| Leibel01-20-04, 03:50 PM | I'm a DM running a campaign with three BBEG's - A Drow mother and daughter + surface elf traitor. The whole story is that the PC's are hired by an Elf Sorceress to find her familiar - it was toadnapped by the Drow mother who wanted to lure her surface elf rival out of hiding to end their rivalry - the older daughter tried to have the younger daughter assassinated over inheritence money and a feeling the younger was shaming the family and when that failed the older sister made up charges of treason against younger sister and her family to boot. Result - the younger sister and her family had to defect to good side and are now LN. The surface elf sorceress has a nephew who's a ranger and is secretly working with the Drow mother to lure the surface elf sorceress and now the defector Drow family out of hiding pretending to be good all the while. The younger sister finds out the nephew is a traitor but wants revenge so she manipulates the PC's into going to the underworld to get revenge. Until the final climactic battle where the Drow mother/older sister and traitor surface elf reveal themselves and square off against surface elf sorceress/younger sister and younger sisters husband with the PC's fighting underlings how should I roleplay the Drow mother/older sister, surface elf traitor and the younger sister. Could the ex-consort/father of the Drow mother/sisters who was turned into a Drider come into play. |
| Trydan01-29-04, 01:16 PM | :twitch: Right... I think I got all of that. It did get confusing towards the end (especially seeing the question-mark key doesn't seem to work on your keyboard! ;) ) Drow mother - Okay, definitely go for the overt evil here. She has nothing to hide, and has her minions to do her dirty work. Her manner will need to be dominant, demmanding and callous. Drow daughters - These will be mixed. Pawing before their mother to gain her favour, contemptuous of those beneath them, as they aspire to greatness, and are learning the mannerisms of the mother. Try fickleness and moodiness too. Elf ranger - This is the most difficult. It needs to be convincingly good, so that the party doesn't suspect treachery until the last minute. However, there need to be pointers to it. For example. The traitor may always prefer to travel at night - supposedly to avoid monsters or something - but really due to dark intentions and the ease at which he can sneak off. However, it must be subtle, otherwise the cat will be out of the bag. I hope that gives you some ideas. Feel free to post back with clarifications or more specific questions. |
