| Solfair02-10-07, 06:01 PM | Could anyone help me out with some roleplaying advice for an Incantatrix? Is there any flavour at all out there that describes this PrC? If anyone has ever played as an incantatrix, then perhaps you could contribute with some advice? Seems like there's so much more to this class besides the "Blast things with MM" Flavour.... |

Think of the character as a demon-slayer mage or something like that, using spells to keep out unholy influences. One option is Incantatrixes within a paladin order - devoted agents of good but talented at spells rather than blades and prayers. This has the weakness as defining your self by what you are against, but Incantatrixes are excellent for defeating outsiders as well as anti-mages. In effect, you could be the wizard version of Soloman Kane. One concept, for a conjurer-turned-Incantatrix is demonology done right. You specialise in dealing with the things you summon, giving you a much stronger bargaining position. Question, why are incantatrixes predominently female? It could give you something to work with. Originally, incantatrix was just another word for witch. Hope all this helps. |

[If memory serves, they were also rather metamages than anti-outsiders in 2e (3e version was a sidetrack/mistake?)] |
