I need suggestions about roleplaying an air genasi ranger, propably raised by elves, hailing from the dalelands (shadowdale) with a charisma score of 6... I have an idea, but it might easily go to the trash! I thought that maybe his parents were soldiers and fought (and died) in the battle against the invading army of scardale when he was 4 or 5 years old. After that one day he was trying to make his way to the battlefield hoping to see his parents but got lost in a wood and eventually saved by a band of elven adventurers... That's what I thought about his backround... But I can't think of a way of displaying the horrible charisma of his... The fr campaign setting states that air genasi tend to be arrogant and have quick changes from totally angered to totally calm... Any suggestions about anything? Any help is appreciated!

This character might be horribly scarred emotionally from seeing his parent's mutilated, bloated, vulture-picked corpses on the battlefield before the company of elves showed up. He has fits of rage and at times has mutilated his own body as a way to release his emotional pain. The elves who have raised him have done much to help in the healing process, but he has a long way to go.

Just a quick Q. How are you guys handling the nerf to levitation? Or are you playing 3.0 still?

1 min/level now instead of 10/lvl. I'm asking on the race board, I'll post replies in here for you in case you wanna port over this character.

6 charisma is a -2 stat so a good rule of thumb is one quirk or attribute per modifier. Or you could go 1-1/2 per modifier making you have 3 at -2. Basically I'd make him arrogant for starters. He is the inheritor of the sky and all that is below it. He's suprememly confident in his abilities and won't hesitate to mention it. I'd also make him unforceful. He doesn't give suggestions, he gives orders, but then he doesn't see them through, he just expects them t be done. He'll just wander over, tell someone to do something and wander off. They kinda just brush him off and he won't press the issue because he either forgot he made the order or doesn't really care anyways. And if you wanted a 3rd attribute of his low charisma, I'd make him have a prediliction to ramble off into tangents when trying to make a pont. Thus not getting it across. This goes with the lack of force of personality. Tie all three together if you like. He could vaguely wave his hand and expect something to be done, whiletrying to convince someone of a course of action, but have the conversation just kinda degrade into meaningless chatter and the occasional boast about himself.
