| Piuro10-08-04, 01:52 AM | I have a level 4 monk in Greyhawk, going into Tattooed monk at either 6th or 7th, dempend on what i decide to do. From a roleplaying standpoint, I would like to have a level of sorcerer, but im not sure about a sorcer/monk. So the real arguement im haveing, is "is it worth takeing a level in sorcerer, to make my character more fun to roleplay, or should i just jump straight to Tattooed monk?" Any help would be appreciated. |

Some DM's might also claim that you won't be able to access the TM PrC when you've given up your monk progression. I think you'd better check that with your DM first... ;) If not being able to advance as a tattooed monk wrecks your complete character image, I'd say skip the sorcerer. If it doesn't, or if your DM allows you to continue progressing as a monk after taking sorcerer levels, it might be very nice to multi-class. Also, don't forget that, depending on your race, you might face an XP penalty... Enaloindir |

You'd have Bluff as a class skill, you'd get a +2 bonus to your Will save, and you'd be able to cast Mage Armor and Shield on yourself! Worried that they'll be dispelled? Learn True Strike instead. Anyone could dispel you, but unless it's critical, who'd waste their time? Detect Magic and Light can make useful utility spells, especially in a Living campaign where you might not be able to count on having the same party members all the time. Prestidigitation's just plain cool for RP purposes. And if the campaign allows it and you have enough skill ranks, you'd even qualify for Dragon Disciple. So if you were just looking for excuses as to why it wouldn't be a bad idea, there you go. ^.^ |

The things I pretty much want are Orb of acid and presdidigitation, then just use scrolls :). In living greyhawk, DMs dont get to decide how i can advance, so i dont have to worry about that.
