I play a CN human bard... basically a coward who uses wit and charm to get away with anything and everything. My other party member as of right now is a NG Half-orc barbarian, whom I have only recently viewed as a comrade, rather then a client.

Now we are level 3, and things are going pretty good. Three new characters are joining our campaign, which is great. They will be a NG Druid (Race undecided) of Ehlonna, CG Half-elf Ranger of Obad Hai, and a Wizard (Race and Alignment unknown, though most likely non-evil and non-lawful)

All these characters plan to have (or do have in the case of the barbarian) a very high wisdmo score. My character has a pitiful wisdom of 7 (Ok, not too bad I agree, but still pretty bad).

I'm merely concerned if whether the way I play my character, as a coward who is also quite rash due to the low wisdom... and my basic unwillingness to go along with quests for the sake of doing good... will eventually disrupt the party, and cause too much conflict. The only outcomes I see of such a thing would be me becoming evil... which I already have to watch out for... becuase my character can be a little manipulative at times.

I was wondering if there is a good way for me to not creat too much unnecessary conflict and still find a way to party well with my other members (Who will 99% of the time most likely be annoyed by me)

Maybe you owe someone money, or slept with the wrong <insert_opposite_gender_here>, and someone is tracking you down to get even. So you decide that being alone is maybe not SUCH a good idea, and you should stick close to your friends. Hell, if you do that long enough, maybe you'll develop a conscience and end up moving towards good (how weird would that be?!) or something.

My current character is essentially a loner (not necessarily by personality, more by circumstance until he started the campaign) who's ultimate goal is revenge upon a group (the Emerald Claw in Eberron), but he goes along with the adventures so far because

a) he needs gold. There is not a lot of money in revenge.

b) he's found he likes being around people, even if he doesn't terribly trust two of the other four party members.

c) his life recently took a turn for the worse, and he feels the need for comrades right now (developing an aberrant (?) dragonmark).

For most alignments you can find SOME reason to hack around with a party... even Aragorn found a reason, and he sure felt like a loner the first time he appeared ;)
