| Nani?12-06-05, 12:53 PM | I'm starting in a another game and I threw three "rough ideas" to the GM. I felt like they were good examples of basic backgrounds so I thought I'd pass it on. It's a good example of coming up with a good concept with the blessings of the GM. Druid/Master of Many Forms (?)-- Rejected as an evil abomination and abandoned by her own mother at the edge of the woods. She was taken in by a warm hearted druid or ranger who rejected the idea of "born" evil. The underlying motive of this character is to "blend into/ become one with the natural world" and in doing so overcome a "curse". The "curse" she is trying to overcome is her alien Tiefling blood. In turn she can show extremes of kindness and cruelty. Probably my favorite idea. A "desert elf" Ranger/Fighter/Dervish nomad who is now in unfamiliar territory. Character attitude would be combination Freman/Elfquest like. Either a desert (UA) or Painted elf (Sandstorm), depending on what is being used. A half elven wizard raised by an Imperialist/Lawful human mages guild as an "experiment" to learn how to "tame" those of elven blood. Probably a specialist wizard of some type. Can be run either as a loyal agent or renegade fugitive. Could consider alternate race. After talking to the GM, two of the three (the nomad and the 1/2 elf) fit well into the game and talked it out. In the end, I chose the half elf and but was able to incorporate some of the Druid feel. She is a "renegade" and either a CG or CN Warlock rather then a Wizard. Her powers come from the fact that "something untamed, vaguely fae" really didn't want the guild to "tame" her. She is a relatively "undark, more wild" Warlock. All the best, Nani? |
