Our DM has decided to make a lvl 16 adventure which will probably kill most, if not all, of our characters (personally I have no problem with this.) Since this is the case I would like to get the most out of my character, RP wise. Here are some of the basics:

Despite being very young his equipment value is slightly more than the average for an adult Gold Dragon.
He wears a Hat of Disguise so as not to upset any humanoid races he may encounter. Due to this, when he wants to use his breath weapon he pretends to consume a potion (even though doing so takes two standard actions.)
Unless it is absolutely necessary to change to dragon form, he will try to finish an encounter while in human form.
He desires adventure over treasure (obviously he needs equipment.)
Generally speaking, he desires to quell evil, but he does show compassion even to Evil NPCs or Monsters.

With this in mind I had two Questions:

How would other Gold Dragons treat him, as far as status would go; especially older ones?
What other RP recommendations do you have?

Thanks

Hmmm...if you have the Draconomicon, this would be a good time to read up on the Gold Dragon page in specific. Looking over it myself, it actually says they typically spend *most* of their time polymorphed into another form, so he doesn't sound out of the ordinary in that regard. It also mentions that they instruct younger dragons carefully, but allow a good deal of personal freedom--so to the first question, I'd suppose they would respect him, provide suggestions and advice that they thought he could use, but mostly leave him to his own devices.

For the second question...he's a Gold Dragon. He can show mercy against evil only if he's utterly convinced the individuals won't cause trouble again. It's total victory, or nothing. There is no debating.

His efforts to remain unnoticed are typical, so they fit well. He should have an appreciation for art, a good tale, good food, anything that shows craftmanship. Even a well-executed battle plan isn't above a nod of respect. Generally, I'd play him as a good-natured and easygoing character who's thoroughly likeable, right up until it comes to combat with evil. Then, he's merciless (and has no illusions about fighting fair. That could be more a hallmark of an older dragon, yours might still have some idealism about "rules", up to you).

My two coppers, take them as you will. Hope it helps. :)
