| The_Epic_Paladin02-22-04, 12:08 AM | With a campaign started it turns out the campaign is going to be on the Sea with the Pirates and really bad eggs. I want to be a pirate who pillages and plunders but it still a good person. But I can't think of way to role play it. Can I get some help here? |
| TheBlackBart02-22-04, 07:33 PM | Simple. First, you must be a bit selective about who you pillage and plunder. Ennemy ships, or rich merchant ships. Obviously, you wouldn't be good, but you could be neutral. Then, avoid killing if unnecessary. Offer opportunity of reddition. Also, free slaves. Invite them to join your crew, or to live on some pirate island, where everyone is free and equal. Skull & Bones has many great rules and ideas to play a pirate campaign. |

You main goals in life should be freedom, fun and pleasure. Disrupt law and steal from snooty merchant, but avoid hurting innocents. Entice people to join you in your Pirate's Life of Adventure. Do things for the fun of it. If someone gets really hurt by your actions, go back and help them (if you stole some goods that were needed by a desperate merchant, go back, say sorry, then run like hell from the guards!) |

| Daniel _the_Zodiac02-26-04, 10:36 PM | Hmm, I'd watch Pirates of the Carribean no matter what type of pirate I was going to portray. The famous pirate Jean Laffite hated the Spanish with a passion, which hinted that he was probably captured and tortured by the Spanish at one point and while he would actively seek out Spanish ships to plunder he also would go out of his way to leave American ships alone, presumably since some of his hideaways were in New Orleans and he didn't want trouble or there could have been a more benevolent reason. Does that help? |
