I just think something is missing from his story. Born in a jungle cave, Carrick was raised on the hunt in the day and around the campfire at night. It was here that he heard the dark stories of the drow who then haunted his dreams. These nightmares were so bad, he developed a bad taste for the drow and devoted himself to the hunt of the dark elves. One day while with a hunting party, he felt strangely attracted to an ominous cave in which he stared into the eyes of a drow for the first time. Afraid of each other, they fought brutally and luckily the rest of the hunting party heard his cries as he was losing and came to his rescue. As they picked Carrick up from the floor, the drow disappeared into the darkness. Carrick picked up a bloody tooth from the ground that must have fallen from the drow's mouth and tied it to his necklace, vowing to vanquish the darkness and spread the light within. So now when roleplaying, I describe to the others when Carrick kills a drow, he cuts open the side of the enemy's cheek, and digs out the canine tooth with his spear head, placing the bloody piece in his belt pouch. So is it just me, or is this character missing something? Also, Carrick has an Int score of 7. Would you say that's low enough to talk like Tarzan? |

What was his earlier life like aside from hunting? What region of the campaign world is he from? Where has he recently been traveling? Are the people that raised him still alive? Does he know his parents still? Does he have any siblings? Friends? Mentors? How did he learn to hunt? These are all questions I would ask myself and try to incorporate into my character's back story. Everything else that you wrote was pretty good. I would just expand on what you already have. |

Try the Raynard the Black's questions for starters. Here are some other questions you could try to answer: Has he ever fallen in love? How did it work out? Is there someone in his tribe he dislikes or hates? Why? Did he leave his tribe? Why? For how long? |
