So my character died... [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-16-07, 01:06 PM and i am going to be rolling up a new character we are going to be starting at level 10. now i was looking at doing something non normal.

i am wondering how this can be done or if it's posibly. i don't need optimization, just some help developing the character.

i am looking at doing a paladin, who dies during his mission. which is to correct the tyranny and captivity of his family/village.

now what i am looking at is this paladin dies and instead of being resurrected, since he is in the middle of nowhere and would almost never be found he is "animated" into a bone creature, template from bovd. now what i am wondering is would a good aligned deity use this method to make a "positive energy" skeleton, one that is actually healed from cure magic....unlike normal skeletons.

02-16-07, 01:10 PM Not sure. I was perusing through the Eberron campaign setting and vaguely remember reading something about the elves in that world using positive energy to animate or bring back the dead ancestors that they worship...or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure Eberron does divine magic and deities differently than standard D&D but it might be worth posting over on that board if you don't get the answer you're looking for here.

02-16-07, 04:59 PM In Eberron there are the Deathless, positive energy undead that rule one of the elven kingdoms. I'd check that out.

02-24-07, 11:29 PM Ya, i have to go with Yami on this one, go with Deathless, that or I believe there is a Good Lich template in one of the Forgotten Realms books, but that is for a full caster, not a Paladin.
