Dragon_Whisperer 10-19-06, 02:00 PM	I have made a CG lvl 5 human sorcerer, I'm looking at a fire focus. Draconic Heritage (Brass) Draconic Breath (cone of fire) and Improved familiar with a fire elemental as a familiar. But I was wondering about a good backstory. I like to play characters who have been rejected or something. Perhaps he accidently burned his village to the ground, he's only 17. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Carey Z W 10-19-06, 05:19 PM	Maybe sometime during the night when he was sleeping, he had a nightmare of a Red dragon coming to him, trapping him, and before it killed him, he woke up, but his house was aflame. In his nightmare his magic awakened, and he cast a spell, (Pick one, burning hands works) and it set his house aflame. Of his family, he's the only to escape the flames alive, and he exiled himself from his village in shame. Now, that is an incredibly rough and crude story, you get the fun of fleshing it to a 5 page novel.
castlemike 10-19-06, 05:48 PM	Possibly descended from a Dragon, Effreeti or Fire Elemental ancestor or Firre Eldrin or some combo of the two with one predominant. Maybe with a Bloodline Ability from UA (Celestial, Draconic, Elemental, Fiendish or Efreeti) or a Variant of the +0 Fiendish Template instead of +2 to Intelligence and -2 to Charisma and Burning Hands or Produce Flame 1/Day instead of Darkness 1/Day swapping them around since you are playing a sorcerer to support your story. Hitting puberty your produced flame sleeping which burned down your house and killed all your immediate family having Fire Resistance 2 or 5 and you survived. You were or were not adopted by surviving kin (An aunt or uncle who is the local ranking Adept or their spouse knows what you are and considers you a murderer (in addition to being influential of course he or she is also a gossip and has poisoned your village against you) You have an otherworldly planar aura and possible physical aspects (Red Eyes, Sharp Pointy Teeth, Clawlike Fingernails, Two Small Pointy Horns or a Tail (Things commonly associated with Planar Evil Beings like Demons and Devils (By association you are Evil and Distrusted on sight, if you were good you wouldn't have horns or a tail .......), when you get angry you start smoking a little bit which is disconcerting and disturbing to many people particularly superstitious NPCs). You PC is a "Bastard" without a father you never knew except from some gossip and rumors you know he was a passing Adventurer, Bard or Traveller of some sort. Your mother never married or was a widow of several years before you were born.
Daxen 10-27-06, 03:11 AM	If you want to go over the top. You burn down your families home and none of your relatives will take you in. You turn out to face the world a man with no family and no home. In your wandering you encounter an old man, who slowly but surely teaches you how to cope with your unusual powers. After a short stint of "guidance" and having gained the ability to control it enough, so that you don't accidently kill people. Your ancestor reveals his true (dragon) form and tell's you simply to "go".

Thanks. not a good idea read the page on wizards.com about wizards...it says specificly not to do the exact thing you are doing
