| Shadowdogg11-16-04, 09:11 AM | Howdy all!!! Was wondering what you thought of a Sorc/Dragon Disciple.....that a good combo? What development would you do? And I f I where to take a 3rd classs down the road what should it be? |
| Nicholas the Paladin11-16-04, 02:51 PM | There are already some threads about the DD. Check them out. Most people believe that the DD is mainly usefull when used for a fighter-type of character because of the STR and CON increase. This ofcourse shouldn't keep you from using the DD as an extra for a sorcerer. |
| FatGnome11-16-04, 10:35 PM | It is fun except you do not get the same spell progresion. But it makes a fun rounded character to play. Not only would you be fairly good at spell casting, but you would aslo be strong and have more hit points than the average Sorc. so it is a trade off. (Personaly I just like to be a half dragon from the start, but for RP DD is a great time.) |
| Shadowdogg11-17-04, 08:53 PM | So anyhoo iam looking for a spell casting melee hybrid I guess......whats a good and powerful combination for a half elf or full elf? |
| that_evil_guy11-22-04, 06:45 PM | I personally think that taking as many Draconic feats from Complete Arcane makes a better "draconic sorcerer" than a Sorcerer / Dragon Disciple simply because you keep your full spellcasting progression, get a bunch of neat-o draconic abilities (like being able to fly after casting a spell, gain claws, gaining elemental resistances, three new spells, being able to spontaneously blast out your dragon type's breath weapon and so forth) and also take another prestige class to enhance your abilities (like elemental savant to become a master of whatever element your dragon embarks, though you could ask your DM if you can change it to make it more draconic based [like gaining the dragon subtype instead of elemental subtype and draconic typre resistances instead of elemental based]). You also have the ability to use spells to transform yourself into an actual dragon (via polymorph and shapechange). |
