Soulknife/Cleric Background [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-21-04, 01:41 AM Ok, im making a level 6 soulknife/1 cleric who is half elf (soulknife as favored class). He is a very paladin-like figure: charismatic(16), strong(16), quick(18), tough(16), wise(16) and intelligent(18).

He is half wild elf, raised in a nomadic wilf elf community. He is considered a "pretty boy" by his entire "tribe", though he gets the respect he deserves as a fighter(soulknife).

I cant seem to think of a good background story for him atm. So far i can only think of the basics.

Oh, also, he was trained as an apprentice soulkinfe/cleric.

His domains are war and strength, but im not sure about the god just yet (cant remember his name; he is a homebrew god though).

Any help would be awsome, thanks.

One guy in our party got nothing lower than 17's. Plus, being a half dragon, he had a bunch of stats higher than 18... but then he died (from being stupid). and now he has to reroll a character (i laugh at him).

but yeah, i got really lucky... and any help would be great on the background. :D

On to other things. Since you are going soul knife, and using your mindblade, I would recommend a domain other than war. Most people take it for the MWP/WF in their god's favored weapon, which won't do you much good.
As for the background, first which parent was the elf, and how did the human parent get involved with him/her? Why was he raised with the elves, and not humans? Are his parents still alive? How did he handle growing up quicker (much!) than his "childhood playmates" (most of whom are still children by elven standards)? Did he have to do anything special (quest or ritual, or some such) to be considered an adult by his tribe mates? I assume that the god he is following is elven, if so then was it difficult to get the elven clerics to accept him? If not, then how/when/where/why was he exposed to a non-elven deity when he was living full-time with elves?

Hope this helps some. After you answer these questions I'll try to think up some more to help detail your background. :D

I'm thinking that his mother was wild elf, and his father was human.

I'm also thinking that he doesnt know his birthparents, just the ones that raised him.

Probably what happened was that there was a war... a VERY big war. A male and female wild elf find a baby crying in the hollow of a tree, with a wild elf women bleeding to death. They cant save her. They (being married) raise the child as their own, while on a long journey back to where the tribe is supposed to be. They soon realize that the child is growing much faster than what is normal. He is half-human.
The male wild elf (Eldryn) is the son of the chief, who he finds out just died, and now he is chief. The women(Arathwyn), is his wife.

While rasing the half elven child, Arathwyn dies.

The child(Tsorovan, meaning storm) is raised by Eldryn, the chief. The tribe doesnt like this because A) the chief spends too much time with the child, and B) the child is impure(not truely elven).

Some do not care, but the majority hates the child, and decides to either A) kill the chief, or B) kill the child.

They choose B.

Eldryn finds out about the plot to kill his son, and takes the arrow in the chest instead of his son(who is now 14-15 years old).

Also, the guy who succeeds Eldryn is Shadar.

Thats as much as i can think of atm... but im thinking that he learns to use his mindblade while training to be a cleric(using that whole apprentice system thing where you train for 2 classes ar the same time). Like durring the combat part of his training, something goes wrong and he has to fight for his life or something.

Btw, in the villiage/clan/tribe thing, they have never seen the likes of a mindblade, so they dont know what it is(the priests think it is a gift from God_That_They_Worship_01). He calls it his Heartblade since he feels somehow connected to it.
