| Lady Pain07-17-03, 06:39 PM | I'm going to be part of an adventure pretty soon, but I'm stuck on what character concept I want. I know I want to play a female, and I don't really want to play a character that's one of the usual characters that people pick, and I know I want her to be CN, but other than that I have no idea. Help please. |
| Anduin_Lothar.07-17-03, 06:58 PM | A road that I don't see travelled much is the rouge/shadowdancer. Being CN would work in this case because you a free to do what you want...to an extent. I always found them fun to play because you can "dance" around the baddies taunting and making fun of them. An interesting quirk to give to this player would be to give them no concept of light and shadow. Blindness? Maybe your DM would allow you blindsight, or tremorsense (doubtfull on the latter) I know I would in this case. Good luck with whatever you pick. |

| Lady Pain07-18-03, 04:20 PM | Well, I actually created a character last night based on a suggestion from my husband (a fellow adventurer/DM). Here it is: Name: Oz Class: monk Race: tiefling Alignment: lawful neutral Level: 2 Deity: St. Cuthbert Age: 21 Gender: male Height: 6'8" Weight: 290 Eyes: foggy blue (blind) Hair: long, white (top knot) Skin: fair Strength: 12 (+1) Dexterity: 15 (+2) Constitution: 10 (0) Intelligence: 12 (+1) Wisdom: 16 (+3) Charisma: 14 (+2) Hit Points: 13 AC: 15 Fortitude: +3 Reflex: +7 Will: +6 Melee: 3 Ranged: 4 Speed = 40 ft. Skills Balance = 4 Bluff = 2 Climb = 4 Escape Artist = 4 Hide = 5 Jump = 4 Move Silently = 4 Tumble = 4 Special Abilities/Feats unarmed strike furry of blows evasion blind-fight combat reflexes deflect arrows stunning fist lightning reflexes Languages common infernal undercommon Weapon unarmed It's been a while since I've had a character that I really like, but now I have Oz and I have my Paladin that I play in another adventure. |
| Talmariel07-19-03, 12:26 AM | How are you handling the blindness? |
| Zoticus07-20-03, 02:04 AM | you might ask your DM if your character can take the scent feat to help you locate opponets in battle. |
| Trydan07-21-03, 09:12 AM | I know I want to play a female, and I don't really want to play a character that's one of the usual characters that people pick, and I know I want her to be CN, but other than that I have no idea. Hmm... that is very open ended. We really need a little bit more information to be able to start developing something. It is a bit like saying "I've a piece of paper, and I want to write something...". Still, here are some ideas that you could use, based on the 11 basic classes. Barbarian: former circus freak show exhibit, that escapes and now roams the country on the run from her former employers, desperately trying to earn some gold to return to her homelands. Bard: A poet who decides the way to get more gripping verses is to actually take part in the sagas about which she later recites. Sort of an action journalistin. Cleric: Depressed and despondant. Always praying as if the group is about to die, not caring what gets done, nor whether she is righteous or not... it makes no difference. Druid: This druidess has taken it upon herself to be the representative of the entropic forces of the woods. Fighter: The deserter, on the run from his unit, facing a court marshall should they catch him. Irregular methods, not fixed aim, but still a competent fighter. Monk: (Hmm... non-lawful... sorry, no ideas here). Paladin: Well, currently Ex-Paladin. Buring the library down after getting drunk is going to take a lot of atoning. Ranger: In constant protest against the encroaching city on her native homeland... this rangeress is saboteur of civilisation. Rogue: Dwarven engineer out of work. Has taken up with alchemy, blasting fire and other forms of explosive destruction. Sorcerer: This halfling sorceress gets too easily distracted by her own electrical spells. Even when the combat is over, she is still casting flashes (Dancing Lights), crackles (Ghost Sound) and more destructive spells (Lightning bolt). And never shake hands with her! Wizard: Complete eccentric... when not adventuring, this wizardess likes nothing better than to sit down with a good book and a nice hot cup of horse urine. |
