I'm curious, is there anyway you creative people can come up with as to how a half succubus could survive and be raised by his father? Thanks for any ideas

First, an half-succubus is an Alu-fiend or Alu-demon, here are some 3E converted stats (http://www.enworld.org/cc/converted/outsider/demon/alu-demon.htm).

Secondly, no need to be a light to know that it's the mother who bear the children, so if you want that the father raise the child, he should either be there when the child was born, or undertake a quest in the Abyss to find the succubus and secure his children.

The first way could really the most difficult one: how could a man keep a succubus at his side for 9 months? A powerful evil man could make a deal with the succubus, or at least chain her in his basement for the pregnacy duration. But what for a non-evil man?

Perhaps a third alternative: the half-succubus (or Alu-Fiend) should be a unique being? If by a way or another, the father learn the true name of his child, can he summon the child via a gate spell?

A little alternative to your request could be an Alu-fiend raised by humans, not necessary her father: uppon giving birth, the succubus abandon her child before a temple, and the Alu-fiend is raised by priests, or monks.

More likely she just dumped the kid on him. Come on, what sort of occupationally promiscuous demon wants a baby cramping her style? Yuck! XP

Along the same lines, you could have the succubus mother plan to abort the pregnancy, and have the human father beg for (and probably trade something very important for) the child's survival. That would certainly give your GM some plot hooks ;p

If she actually wanted the baby (which I find unlikely, but it may appeal to some), you could have the father be a religious man whose God granted the services of a Celestial to retrieve the baby, probably in exchange for the child being brought up in the God's service (I am having a very appealing Paladin idea all of a sudden...).

The idea about Monks (or a similar organisation) is cool, too. It would depend on which class the little guy was planned to become, though, since that may influence what kind of background would be suitable.

Hey, this is a pretty fun thread ^_^

I was thinking along the lines of, hes a kid raised by his father, a noble man, who comits a crime and runs away to join an evil cult (it's deeper than this, this is a quickie version)

Later he's going to find out hes half-succubus, thus being part deamon.

Kinda hard to "find out later" that he's half-succubus... with the huge bat wings sticking out of his back and all.

Anyway, I don't see why a Succubus would instantly kill a half-human/whatever child she gave birth to. Demons might be psychos but they also have their immortal existance to fill with "amusement". I'm sure they can have loads of fun seeing their mongrel kid run around causing havoc.

One obvious possibility is that the succubus didn't make her nature known to the nobleman. Sure, she could have sucked out his soul, but in the overall scheme of things it'd be a lot more fun to pretend to be a normal human woman (wife is better than mistress - that way the kid inherits) for the pitiful handful of years a human lives and then sit back & watch the fun as a line of demon bloods take over.

Why knock a few levels off one nobleman when you can wait a few years and plunge the entire barony into misery by putting someone with a genetic predisposition for Chaotic AND Evil on the baronial throne?

If a girl's going to live forever she needs to take a long term view of these things - otherwise life will get boring. After all, hopping into bed with one demonologist after another is going to get old eventually. And how many Sex and the Single Demoness books can she realistically hope to write? Sooner or later, your average succubus is going to need some alternative form of entertainment.

Well does it have to be the father the child was raised by his mother with the succubus being male (an incubus) also what is the alignment of the character and the father, if the alignment is close to chaotic evil I don't see why the succubus wouldn't have some contact with an easy to manipulate toy.

Also you could try something else like saying the succubus was victum of an item that changes alignment switching her chaotic evil to lawful good. Could give you ideas to play with.

Let's say you're a nobleman. Some seer at some point has indicated your firstborn son has a good chance of ruling the world. Enter the succubus. She seduces you and becomes pregnant. When you learn of this, the seer's prophecy begins to haunt you. Finally, you pony up to the gold pieces and have a famous wizard gate in your child. Of course, he's a bat-winged monster. Now you have a real problem. You want to treat him with kindness, but it becomes increasingly obvious you can't put a half-fiend on the throne. On the other hand, messing with prophecy seems like a bad idea. So you have him cloistered away, raised by the most learned, pious, and dangerous men in the realm, while you try to think of an answer.

Then, of course, the demon child escapes, chafing at the constraints on his life, aching for adventure, boiling with ambition.

The offspring of an Incubus and a human female is a Cambion (http://www.enworld.org/cc/converted/outsider/demon/cambion.htm), and unlike the Alu-Fiends, the Cambions are always Chaotic Evil.

I doubt that a demon can change alignment in any way, since their entire body is the expression of their soul. And if a succubus end to become Good, she is now a Good Outsider, and her children should be Good.

I have another idea. The Alu-Fiend has the spell-like ability to shapechange into any medium-size humanoid. Have your baron's wife be an Alu-Fiend, since they are not necessary evil. Now their children should be a tiefling, since the mother is some kind of half-fiend. If the tiefling only has some little horns or some vestigal wings to conceal, it is more easy to pass for a true human.

When an incubus mates with a human female, the offspring is a cambion. Cambions, unlike their “sisters” the alu-demons are always chaotic and evil and care little for anyone or anything but their own well-being. They are selfish, self-centered, and egotistical.

That pretty much describes my character.

And if it's the baron's sister or daughter (or the baroness herself, let's not be sexist!) who "met" an incubus and bear the children, that solves the problem on how your character was raised by his human parent.

I was more meaning to imply that most Succubi wouldn't have the patience or the inclination to go through childbirth (especially when it would be so much more fun to turn your human lover into a woman and make him go through it) just to get some shiggles out of watching their kid cause trouble. Like I said, it's possible - I just don't find it as likely as the case where she wants to ditch the kid. *shrug*Speaking as a woman who shares the chaotic side of the alignment, at least.
