| Odin_Nickerson08-03-06, 02:28 AM | my D&D friends want to start an evil campaine with one of our DMs and they all know what class and race they are going to be. They chose githyanki fighter, half dragon fighter, and a human paladin. (our DM is allowing an evil paladin.) I have gone through a few different ideas and none seem to pop out at me. So if you please give me a few suggestions on class, race, and prestige class that could be fun to play in an evil campaine. (and if you suggest a class that isn't in the Players Handbook please give me a link to the specifics of it cause i cant surf this site worth my life ) thank you in advance |

Animate Dead/Create Undead; gives you minions, keep them hidden. Planar Ally; go Thaumaturgist route and have long-term planar contacts, also summon things just to strike bargains for the long-term (rather than paying them, try exchanges of services or contacting a powerful demon and offering to work for it in exchange for rewards). Geas/Quest and Mark of Justice or Bestow Curse; the curse is that you can place a Geas on the ictim regardless of distance. If someone accepts the Mark they are under your control. |
| JulesCARV08-03-06, 03:43 AM | If an artificer is allowed, I'd say go artificer. Druid is another possibility Possibly rogue/archivist/black flame zealot? (why don't black flame zealots get disable device, darnit?) |
| Devlonir08-03-06, 04:33 PM | I agree on the cleric part. And if you want some fun, think about giving him the goal to become a lich (and not through the lame Dread Necromancer class) Also, remember that you cant cast healing spells whenever you want, so use them wisely. Once you are a Lich, a spontaneous cast, sudden maximized Cause Critical Wounds will save the day anytime. :-) Oh yea, and remember to keep your phylactery somewhere really safe. Just so nobody can abuse your lichdom. (My character didn't stash it away, but carried it in a custom made wondrous item on him all the time.) And try and take some ranks in bluff just to be sure you never have to give the real location of your phylactery. |
| Fithero08-03-06, 06:47 PM | What about an assassian like character? Youve got a pretty solid combat force there, yet you have no arcane or divine magic and your without a sneak. While the 3 tanks are wading into combat, you can sneak up behind the enemy and start stabbing them in the back. Simple :P Later |
| Drunk_Yoda08-03-06, 07:15 PM | I also recomend the artificer because you have got all force but no magic so I recomend you this because you might become the most needed thing in the campaign. |
| Kresalak08-03-06, 07:43 PM | I suggest artificer. This is your chance to play a mad scientist! |
| Vintar08-05-06, 12:52 PM | Evil cleric - then build an undead army of doom. |
| nerd4208-06-06, 12:16 AM | Evil wizard? It's so classic... |
| Untamed_Soul08-06-06, 05:23 AM | Yes I would either say Evil Cleric or Evil Wizard. Being the cleric you could aid in battle and do many other diabolical things such as animate undead, curse, command, blind/deafness... not to mention you could inflict wounds with a touch attack. Being the wizard you would start out quite fragile but as levels progress and without the restrictions of alignment as to throw a fireball into the middle of a crowd, well you would be golden in the spell department. |
| Ensjak08-08-06, 06:53 PM | Go with an evil ranger. Race doesn't matter, although I like bitter half-elves for this purpose. You live for the hunt, stalking prey through all manner of environments whether for revenge, money, or just the excitement of bringing down the mighty and righteous. Perhaps you started hunting for the fun of it. Each kill became a prize and a trophy. Each new beast you slew was a testament to your strength and cunning. Pride overtook you and you meant to prove that you were more powerful then other hunters by stalking and killing them. This led you down a dark path of murder and assassination, but always do you crave the hunt. You live for those final moments as you let your prey become aware of your prescence and you can see the terror in its eyes. The rush you get from knowing that that which you've just slain was more powerful than the previous challenge. You love your companions and you love having them around. They're the perfect meat shields and allow you to take down prey that would normally be beyond your abilities. Forget being a cleric and using healing magic to keep your companions alive. They're there to die for you. So let them do their job. Fighters are a dime a dozen anyway. If you are gifted with some rangerly healing magics then perhaps you can speed their recovery between or after fights, but there's no way you're opting to drop a healing spell on that half-dragon instead of planting an arrow between an enemy's eyes. You're no one's lacky or healing stooge, you're the hunter. |
| braindead34508-10-06, 01:09 AM | Spymaster from Song and Silence. Or half-orc Rogue that specializes in brute force smash&grabs, mugging and the like. |
| Monsco08-11-06, 12:59 PM | A Half-elf cleric. That way, you get the bonus on diplomacy for when you summon monsters for long term use. (I think thats how it works, anyway...) |
| Matrixguy_666_Genesis08-17-06, 01:23 PM | while everyone else says this i agree but with an idea Try going for both wizard/sorcerer and cleric and go mytic theruge. You get massive power and tons of spells the cleric part could allow heavier armor and you could have twilight armor (-10% arcane spell failure chance.) take like 5 levels in each then take mystic you then have the equilent of a 15th level cleric and 15th level arcane caster. If you dont like those try using a couple of these 1.warmage(complete arcane or minatures handbook) 2.wu gen(complete arcane or oriental adventures) 3.Duskblade(players handbook 2) 4.beguiler(players handbook 2) 5.favored soul(Minatures hand book or complete divine) 6.shenugan(complete divine) |
