| capt. narcissist02-19-04, 04:11 PM | im currently playing a Rogue who is heading the path to Dervish. I started him off in a local towns infantry. I was caught stealing and had a choice to join the army or rot in jail with my hands cut off. since most Dervishes are nomadic and modeled after the Rom (Gypsies) so I was thinking that I could have been raised a nomad moving from Town to Town until I was apprehended and my band jumped ship for new ventures. I am also trying to brainstorm some instruments I can use as well as dancing. |
| Twilly02-24-04, 04:20 PM | You are already playing the character, so if I am rewriting his past in a way that is not possible please tell me. Your rogue might have joined the army in a time of war. You are sent to the battlefields as an infantrist. Your bataljon arives too late. The city you had to defend was already ruined. There were some survivers, including some gypsies. Your character deserted that day, and left with the gypsies that hid him. Now he has become a true member of the group, and he is more then willing to protect their interests. For your instruments: what about the fiddle or violin. I think it fits in with the gypsie idea. |
| capt. narcissist02-24-04, 04:47 PM | The violin would be a nice instument, that or the tamborine. I like your angle on this. I think I might want to adopt the lifestlye like Paul Atriedies did with the Fremen in Dune. I also plan on being nicknamed "The Whirlwind" when I start kicking up the Dervish dance. the Chaotic Liberator. |
| Twilly02-24-04, 04:54 PM | Can you tell me something about Paul Atriedies? I have no idea what kind of person he is. |
| Tattered Master02-24-04, 08:58 PM | Paul Atreides is the son of Duke Leto Atreides in the Dune series. He was a total posh nobleman's son until he wen't into hiding with the indiginous desert folk called the Fremen. His mother was a Bene Geserit Witch and taught him her magic methods and he incorporated them into fighting, and taught the Fremen, and then he and his nigh invincible army usurped the Emporer's throne and went off to conquer the universe...............>pant, pant, wheeze< |

Im desiging my dervish to be a moving flanker. I would be a street tough Rogue who would teach his ways of SA to the band of gypsies and my Rogue like ways. I want to create the romantic gypsies, tramps and thieves of my friends home-brewed world. |

The Fremen is before a stone. Paul says: "Try to hit it with your head (meaning your spirit)" And the Fremen hit it with his forehead... I don't know if this scene actually occured or if I just deform old memories, but it's too funny! |
