| turtlemonkey01-27-06, 05:09 PM | heres my character story.. just looking to see if anyone else has any story or RP ideas i could add with him... using a custom campain world, hes a pretty high up cleric for a fire god (also CN, and this epic campain, so started off with a lvl 20ish guy, more so church is in gaining power so it can take magic portfolio from another god, as far as fire aspect just that fire is uncontroable, and rages on, but never give too much into the rage. CUs if a fire burns too quickly it will use all its fuel and extinguish forever) also the title names are kinda like names given through out the clerics career usually only has one. mine has 2 as due extenuating circumstances, think of these kinda like indian names... Relgan CN half-giant - title of “burning truth” (given when first entered the church, though due to circumstances despises the name, see story) and “fires wraith” (more recently given this, and prefers this as title). When young (think age of 5ish) he was found in the Polar Regions (or some like closer mountains/freezing area) by a church expedition group in search to gain info on rival church (probably some cold god type). They heard wailings of a child in a nearby cave where a large boulder was tossed in front of it. They found Relgan there in his mother’s arms. The mother (human) frozen holding him. No sign of the father was to be found. He was taken back and cared for by the church of Iganor (fire god). The hatred of the cold, and fire characteristic of the church persuaded for Relgan to join when he was an age. He was a very devote cleric, but he had visions (Hence the name of burning truth). He wasn’t able to understand most of them. Some were thought to be visions of the past (He saw visions of another world, constructs not ever seen before, some of a family trapped in the mountains (ooc his past, though only flashes, never enough to put it together until later life), and a mighty battle, some thought of the future (he saw futuristic devices, this is accually the past, in the campain world there use to be a high lvl of technolgy, over 1000 years ago, through wars between gods, and what not it was all lost, dont worry about this mostly, this is mostly campain world specific info), and some thought to be present (think like acts of kindness, criminal acts and what not). He wished to understand more of these visions so he decided to try to harness them. He spent time in solitude to try an attempt to control these powers (got a couple of divine oracle levels). It was when he started to clearly see his past he started to go into mad rages. He saw his father try to push a boulder in front of a cave, orcs attacking his parents, and his mother’s last breath. He became scared and quit the church and further attempts to gain divination power. The visions never stopped, though they did reduce some. He eventually returned to where he grew up and married a childhood friend, and stayed near the church and praying, wishing to lose the visions. It wasn’t until a faithful day a tribe of orcs decided it wanted more land. They attacked the village killing many, his wife included. Relgan flew into a made rage killing many of the orcs. He was able to manifest powers that not many had been able to do. It was dictated only a few of Iganor chosen could control power as mighty as he did. Relgan wished to have only been able to save his wife. He vowed he would become strong enough so that it would never happen again. The vision still plagued him, but he was sent on an atonement for leaving the church. On his quest he was somehow able to gain a legendary weapon of immense power (gains a legendary weapon and takes some scion levels from UA). He was truly a chosen of Iganor, though he did not know why the visions plagued him he realized he must try to coup and understand them, rather than run from them. He tries to act more like he thinks his god would… hide behind a calm exterior, never let them see the fire inside, but when it’s asked for, release the fire with uncontrolable rage to smite those who would dare defy. He realizes the tribal nature of orcs (orcs are more docile in the campain world, and more shamanistic though some war like ones definally exist), but to do this day never trusts them. as far as role playing... thinking of making him more of a fighter type cleric. he will probably not always say all that he knows, and still be pretty scared and weary of any visions, still wishing he didnt have them. Hes very dedicated to the church. Hates the cold and dislikes orcs (borderline racism to orcs only). He will probably have a pretty strong tendancy to protect others, especally family. Though if angered he will be unforgiving, and in battle always attack with everything he has. anyone else got any ideas on how to play him, or anything else intersting might want to add to story? |
| Morka01-31-06, 10:18 AM | I was thinking the half-giants weren't the offspring of a human and a giant (ouch!), but some physically degenerated giants with mental powers... Beside this, it's a great background. As a CN character, he doesn't seem that much attached to the church of Iganor, but he somewhat hopes the church wil help him to get rid of his visions. I'm unsure what would be a CN character opinion about wedding... I guess it would better be a mutual strong attachment than a wedding. In the end, the result is the same, it's just more chaotic. |
