I would like my character to believe in various superstitions that have no mechanical purpose, in addition to ones that do (cold iron, holy water, silvered weapons, etc). Has anyone ever used this in games, and how did they end up incorporating them? |

If you spill the salt you should immediately pick up some of the spilled salt and throw it over your left shoulder. If you say something that could be taken as a bad omen you bite your own tongue. If someone else says something that could be taken as a bad opem you quickly make some sort of warding sign with your hands (cross your chest, 'the horns',) or do something like knock on wood. He'd always say things like 'may he rest in peace', when talking about the dead, even enemies. "The dark knight Merrik, may he rest in peace, was a sonova-" Always take his helmet off in the presence of cemetaries or when someone died. |
