So my new character is a pseudodragon Wu Jen.

Kosjimirrrik, a currently 11 year old pseudodragon has devoted his life to magic and spirituality. Raised from a pseudowyrmling to honor his short lived ancestors and his rather longer-lived cousins, he learned early on that his own life would be next to insignificant next to that of even a human.
Jealous of the fleshy creature's key to power lying simply in a longer lifespan, Kos has set his life goal: step 1) attain immortality, step 2) accumulate the greatest knowledge of the arcane and spiritual arts possible.

Kos focuses on the water element, because of it's lifegiving connotations, but still needs taboos to round out his characters.
Immortality is an expensive goal, so I don't think poverty-related taboos would fit well...

Any ideas? :D

Well, if you want to honor water and life, avoid fire and death, that would be my first idea. For example, make him unable to start a fire or use any spells that deal with it, make him unable to touch dead flesh (unless strictly necessary, say when the un/dead flesh touches him, kind of like a limited version of that vow from BoED... vow of purity iirc) and maybe make him unable to ask for or receive advice from/about the dead.

I think that interaction with the dead is a nessessary way of life for wu jen, considering the watchful spirit class ability, and it's dedication to spirits. I wouldn't want to bar communication with the most knowledge beings when it comes to death.
