A character i am going to be playing pretty soon is going to be Tahl(means blade in Elven), who is a human rogue(eventually will take levels of swashbuckler, invisible blade, and dervish dancer). We are going to be playing in a sand campaign.

stats are-

17 str
18 dex
16 con
16 int
15 wis
14 cha

I want him to be a pickpocket who grew up without a father. He became a pickpocket because his mother had become very sick, and he needed money for medicine(this is in a desert city btw, which i have no clue what the name is). He took up pickpocketing, and eventually became more and more athletic, stealthy, and better at getting out of situations through lieing.

As he did this, he also had to start fighting his was out of things when, on a rare occasion, he was spotted. He learned to fight with simple weapons like daggers, quarterstaffs, spears, ect, but favored the quarterstaff or two daggers the most. He began to notice openings when people were not paying attention, and eventully became able to target those spots without even trying to.

At times he would have to use unconventional methods to get away, such as tumbling across the ground while running, and kicking up sand into peoples eyes, watching a person's movements so he could better understand and dodge their attacks. He also learned to defend himself while wielding two weapons, and to fight with them without much penalty.

Every day he asked himself why he did this, but always came up with the same answer. THough he was hurting other people, he was helping his mother, who had devoted her entire life his education.

One day, Tahl's mother died. The medicine had not helped her. That day, he grew into a terrible rage, and snuck into the doctors home that night. He killed the doctor in his sleep, slitting his throat, and stealing anything of obvious value, feeling it was owed to him for losing his mother.

The next day, there were wanted posters all over the city, with his face on them. That day, he ran off into the desert, with only a bedroll, a sack of the doctors belongings, a quarterstaff, two daggers, and a waterskin.

HIs alignment is chaotic neutral, and his feats include sand dancer(tumble and throw sand to blind someone), Dodge, Two weapon fighting, and 2 weapon defense. He should have 2 flaws, im thinking vulnerable(-1 to ac), and possibly the one that lowers your hp/level by 1(basically you take 1 hp away per level as if you had 2 con lower than what you have).

I want to play him as someone who is willing to help others, but thinks that in turn, other should help him whether than want to or not(such as by "donating" their purse to him).

Any critique would be helpful, places that you think could be better/need to be explained more. I know its kinda cliche for a cgaracter to have killed someone out of blind fury and starting their adventuring that way, but im not too sure how else to do it, other than maybe he could have possibly of been caught stealing and had to run away, leaving his sick mother behind, and being completely banished from the town.

Any help would be awsome, maybe even just letting me know what you think.

Thanks!
