Can a barbarian put tatoos on himself in the wilderness? If he can is there a check or can I just do it?

Can a barbarian put tatoos on himself in the wilderness? It is possible, and even at our times often done. It's just a reality.
If he can is there a check or can I just do it?He would need safe herbs to get the pigments from = Proffesion (Herbalist). He'd also need to know how to avoid infection = Proffesion (Herbalist) (about 10~15?) or Heal (about 5~10?). And last but not least, he would need proper artistic skill for the tattoo to look like the thing he want it to.

I stabbed myself once with a drawing-pen, under my fingernail. I've got a tattoo there, now, for more than two years.
So I guess it's not too diffcult.

So I guess it's not too difficult. To get a dot - it's easy ;) I guess you had rather clean hands - difficult to obtain in wilderness. Pen ink isn't poisonous, and that's something you can't tell about most of plants ;) I haven't wrote a thing about simply putting paint under skin - that's easy, just as you've said.

It was easy, for sure, but it hurt like hell. If that barbarian showed me a jumping tiger tattoed under his fingernail, now THAT would be a proof of endurance and stigma! I'd worship him like a god. Either that, or I'd try to light him on fire to see if he actually does have pain receptors.
