So. This is my backstory.

Healy MacBotty comes from a long line of MacBotties. They have almost all been the clerics of pelor and always taught their youngest members the teachings of pelor. However when Meaty MacShieldy, a widely known fighter, married into the family the things changed. Meaty MacShieldy's son, Healy MacBotty, always listened long nights for his father's stories of battles and he decided to be something else than just a boring priest of pelor.

At the age of sixteen his family finally accepted the fact that healy would never be a priest of pelor and let him go around wandering the world as a bard.

However, Healy became more and more interested of the battles instead of singing of them and started singing more and more of battles he has been in and how he would like to be in battles. Once he was wandering with a respected warmage, Nasty MacBlasty, who recognized Healy's abilities and invited him to join his college.

Years later the Healy had sing more than enough songs of battles and learned a few destructive spells himself, but still not really used them a lot. So, once again he started wandering around looking for battles.

No offense but the names are a little cliche.

Okay now my question to you is where you looking for advice, opinons, or was this just to post a background and nothing else??

It's a bit late for April Fools, dude.

he decided to be something else than just a boring priest
This is the single serious sentence I could find.

I won't comment further until you either say it's all a joke or until you say what you're smoking.

To each his own, though I too would have a little trouble role playing such character's seriously. That said, for a purely lark/humerous toned game I could see having a druid named Woody MacNature, fighter named Swordy MacChopchop or cleric named Priesty McPriestington. :D

People don't just decide to go out and become bards, instruments need to be learned, stories told to over and over again, and bardic knowledge to be gained.

Best way to bridge that is to include a mentor, fleshing out the mentor will help create the character, and include a npc to be used by the DM later on :p
