Some of our gaming group has been playing together since the late 80's. During one of our inital contrivances into D&D in the Forgotten Realms in particular, One of our overly large fighter-types with more muscles than brains picked a fight with a BAR. The WHOLE bar. It just so happened that this whole bar was DECIMATED by the Level 2 fighter, bare handed, due to unbelievable rolls.

When asked by the party cleric where the 20+patrons of the bar went, the idiot said "The Bar? in hell"

Thus the bar in hell was built. Over the last 15+ years, quite a few extravagent deaths have occured, and new patrons have entered the bar.

The Bar in Hell is run by the initial 20 patrons.

Interesting patrons include:

The Unlucky Lich, who happend to be hit by 3 20's from 3 separate maces of disruption, as well as every spell which penetrated his defenses... His "death" sequence consisted of the DM informing us that the bar in hell lost a wall, as the now re-dead undead burst through, proclaiming "Im a LICH!!!" Then going to Jerrry Stiller's voice from the Ant and the Ardvark... "Im a lich.. how could this happen... I was nice in my room and WHABOOM!!"

A Cloaker, intended to guard the escape of a BEBG, who was cleaved in twain by a charging 2-Handed Sword fighter who max-roleld an old-school critical. He sits in the bar near the Lich sipping a martini, saying "I was just hovering there.. my boss passed by and WHAMMO, Im half the cloak I used to be"

A Greater Mummy, who came shambling down the hall at a group of weary adventurers, out of spells and out of magic... the wizard threw a grease spell, the mummy failed the save (unlucky roll), fell down the well at the center of the 4-way room (unlucky roll), and took 20d6 (half damage)... the DM allowed a wizard in the party to roll his"fireball dice" for damage... 111 points... the mummy had 55 hit points... He just sits there, on the floor, and has people dribbble beer on him for re-hydration

The last AD&D/Second Eddition creature was a deamon, who came face to face with a prepared and equiped wizard...
The Daemon won initiative and started dropping fire on the flying wizard... who had an old-school cloak of comfort (-2 hp/die for fire or cold effects) Ring of Fire Resistance, and Cold Fire Shield up (minimum 1pt per die) His 20 D6 flames did 10 points that went through... onto the old-school stoneskin....and then met an old-school mordenkinen's sword critical the next round....

Anyone else have any potential patrons for the Bar in Hell?

These infamous deaths come from a game i played about two weeks ago. The first was a group of three goblins. Standing around in a tower messing around. The pc's snuck up and the one goblin who had a chance of seeing them tripped and fell. The rogue stabbed one through the neck, while the monk criticaled the poor goblin and actually put his fist through it's head. The goblin on the ground looked up, to recieve an arrow in each eye, fired by the wizard and fighter.

Later in the same tower, they found the baron they were supposed to assassinate. Baron ereks was sitting on a log back to the door. Bad, bad move. he was shot by each member of the party and took 3 criticals. for a ground total of 96 damage:eek: he was level 1.

(am i the only one dismayed by the fact that the coc avatar azathoth is actually Yog-Sothoth?)

If there's a bar in hell, and not in heaven... I'm not totally sure which one I'd prefer when I die.
