| Keebler04-12-05, 12:34 AM | I had an idea the other day for a character, and I thought that it might be post-worthy. Ley Lines +1: Lee has an effective caster level of one higher when in plains. Spell versatility 2: All of Lee's spells of up to second level choose the best possible parameters between arcane and divine casting. For example, Lee's wizard spells don't suffer arcane spell failure and use his high wisdom modifier for his save DCs (like his divine spells). Improved Toughness Prereq: Fort base save +2 Benefit: You gain +1 hit points every level. Lee Harvey was one of the shining stars of his tribe. He was more intelligent than most, and was the only tribe member that knew how to work with animals. He always loved his animal friends, and cringed whenever he was forced to eat them by his tribemates. He soon grew tired of the constant hunt for animals to kill, and left his tribe for better things. He was soon found half dead by a kindly wizard who saw that he wasn't quite as bloodthirsty as most gnolls, so he was taken in. Lee soon found that he had quite an aptitude for the arcane arts, but after 5 years of service to the wizard, Lee made a fond farewell and went looking for a pursuit where he would be closer to his beloved animals. In his wanderings, he found a wounded dog, whom Lee nursed back to health and named Yappers. A druid noticed this kind act and approached Lee about joining the Druidic order. Lee excitedly joined, and soon began to notice some peculiar synergies between arcane and druidic magic. He then began down his path towards Geomancy. As he became more and more in tune with the earth, he began taking on a more plantlike appearance. He now protects a strech of plain that he has made his home. He has a small hollow that he has turned into his den, where he keeps his gold and any extra equipment that he seels to passing traders. He has gained quite a reputation in the area, and people who know of him will allow him to speak before attacking. A few miscreants and misled do-gooders still come to provoke the anger of this now-powerful druid. Anyone that passes near with intents on hunting or otherwise harming his beloved animals must face the wrath of the Grassy Gnoll. Combat: Lee always tries to warn people before attacking them, but if they don't heed his warning, then within 5 minutes he will come back with several spells cast on him, ready for combat. His main suite of buffs is Shield, Barkskin, Bull's Strength, Enlarge Person and Guidance. Once battle is joined, he tries to flank an opponent with Yappers. If one opponent goes down and more remain, Lee uses Yappers to distract any spellcasters and begins unloading with his attack spells, starting with call lightning and moving down the spell levels until at least one other opponent is down. If more remain, he uses his ring of the ram to attack one, and continues with more attack spells, including his wand of magic missiles. If he seems to be faring poorly, he commands yappers to run, casting his most powerful remaining healling spell on the dog, then using his potions of invisibility and fly to run away and regroup.
