| AMGriffin05-28-07, 08:45 PM | Hello. I recently picked up a copy of the fiend folio, and was overwhelmingly excited at the idea of a half-troll character. I'm considering playing a half-troll(The other half being Human OR Elf, not sure) fighter. The character in question would be the result of actual interracial relations, not magical gene splicing. His mother would survive giving birth to him, so he'd have a parent to raise (she'd most likely be a peasant) him. Here are the stats I rolled up for him (Before modifiers). Strength: 15 Dexterity: 12 Constitution: 18 Wisdom: 13 Intelligence: 14 Charisma: 13 1.) How would his fellows treat him? 2.) What kind of behavior would his troll instincts incline him to? 3.) What sort of lifespan is he going to have? 4.) Anything else you can input? Thanks. |

Perhaps there were priests and wizards around who used their magics to help her survive the birth (constantly casting cure spells on her, while casting... 'Shrink' on the infant or something.... cheesy but it seems possible) That or the troll was the mother, this could have some interesting complications for the father though. 1.) How would his fellows treat him? Like most freaks, probably not very well. His human (or elf) parent probably kept most of it away, but when the child was at school they other kids would have picked on him/her alot. 2.) What kind of behavior would his troll instincts incline him to? Eat... anything. 3.) What sort of lifespan is he going to have? Im not sure how it actually works in D&D, but in the novels, i got the impression that trolls could live for a very long time due to their regeneration (ie: hundreds of years). Your character is only half troll though, so perhaps he lives the length of a half elf (if human) or a bit more than an elf (if half troll/elf) 4.) Anything else you can input?. First and foremost, you're an ugly sob! How do you deal with the fact that the mere sight of you repulses those around you? Do you hide your looks under a giant, hooded cloak or do you not hide at all, proudly (or defiantly) showing off who/what you are? How did getting picked on as a child affect you? Do you hate others now and feel they deserve whatever they get or do you pity those who insult you? Sounds like a cool character |
