or really last Tuesday.

I'm starting a new campaign and apparently my character has been frozen in a crystalline stasis for 50 years. Knowing the current DnD world, how would one from 50 years in the past speak and/or act differently and would it be noticeable?

I guess I'm trying to develop anomalies in vocal pattern for my monk.

I would try to find out (or create) the events from fifty years ago, and then make note of the differences between then and now. Whenever your character is asked about a location or person from the present s/he might be clueless. But when asked about one from the past, s/he should would "know" where it was. (It might be worthwhile to model your character's knowledge after Tasselhoff's maps in Chronicles of Dragonlance.)

But fifty years isn't very long to develop any anomaly in voice pattern. Even in our own world, the English dialects haven't change much (if at all.)

true, but there was the whole destruction of a region. that region may have been different. Ah well, I'll figure something out, ne?

With the destruction of the region you could use phrases that refer to things that no longer exist...

"By the Three Towers of the Arcane!"

"That giant is as tall as the Ebon Obelisk!"

"It's hotter than the Sands of Skelos in here."

I know, it's really comic book-ish but it's a way to make your speech a little different...
