| Ponderosa11-24-04, 10:26 PM | Hi, everyone. I am currently creating a character for an online campaign, a halfing werecat made using the lycanthrope rules. Not a weretiger, not a werelion, a werecat. As in, werehousecat. Grey and brown tabby cat, to be specific. Every full moon, he changes into a tiny little cat and roams free and wild. Anyhow, I'm trying to write a background for this character. He's a level four bard in addition to being a werecat, for an ECL of 7. The question is, what kind of backstory would this character have? He's an afflicted werecat, but I doubt he was attacked by a pack of wild werecats. It seems more to me that he would have been the victim of some magical or divine curse of some kind. The basic background I sketched out is that he was a rather friendly, if roguish, bard, wandering among, performing at, and, if necessary, stealing from various towns. He may or may not have been part of a nomadic halfling family or group, as well. Then, for some reason or another, he was the victim of a curse that transformed him into the werecat he is today. However, he has found his new form very useful, and has ended up now (for whatever reason) in the large, commerce-based city of Beladon. Does anyone have any other ideas for his background? How could I best define his personality? Above all, what mysterious and bizarre curse could have afflicted him, and why? |
