All throughout his life, he was the strange one. He was the one everyone pointed at and called freak. He was the one the adults shied away from. He was the freak. He ran into a very dangerous man early in life, his mentor. This man opened up his soul, what the old man called his Darklore past. The boy didn't believe his gifts were from a dark source, but he humored the old man.

The thought that his powers came from a dark source intrigued him.

Came then the day he left and started his own life, visiting the temples of Shar to gain more abilities, as it was her (( which is what he was told, and who was he to disbelieve a godess )) who gave him his abilities. Then he met a man. A man who introduced him to the possiblities of roads instead of forests. This man was a mental master. He said that his peoples (( psionics )) had roads through their minds, and that all others had merely forests with the possibility of dirt paths.

The thought that his powers came from his own mind intrigued him.

Shortly after, he met a beastman, a bug-bear. This man was a great story teller and bard. He could effect the actions of others with nothing but his voice and the words he chose to compile into sentence structure. This man introduced the possibility of controlling others with nothing but voice, a very possible option indeed. In his past, he did notice that people believed him more than others, and were more afraid of him than any others of his age.

The thought that his powers came from his force of personality intrigued him.

It was an odd meeting that set his mind another way. A fatal meeting it could have been. He had taken the opportunity to cleanse his local area of sin and opposition. The forest was clean, but the plains was far from it. The area near the forest was clear, but further out he met something he was worrid to fight. A flying creature seemed to descend from above upon him taking his life on a flight itself. The winged creature was of shadow, it was nothing but and was very hard for him to combat. The ending blow caused the creature to speak forth a prophetic last words. He said that his slayer could have only been of the Shadow Wing tribe. Born of the Shadow Plane and destined to return and reclaim his former heritage. So it was that his next fear was that his powers came from the shadowstuff itself. Yet . . .

The thought that his powers came from shadow intrigued him.

Arille Varamond has reached a level in his life where he must choose a path. Will he choose the path of the godess and gain the ability to curse others with naught but a touch?

Will he choose the path of the Mind's Eye and gain the ability to be anywhere at any time?

Will he choose the path of the voice, the manipulating word and gain the ability to charm others into his every whim?

Or will the lonesome once boy, now a man, choose the shadowstuff and grow wings of darkness to give him a flight that none other can obtain?

I am at a fork in my characters road. I have been given the option of one of four lesser invocations when I reach my next level. I do not know what to choose. Because the given things above are fact! Should I choose Fell Flight for example, I will ba able to become a Shade later on. There are many things that make these choices hard. They are all useful. They are all quite openly storyline. And they all create a profound change in my characters future. (( BTW, should I choose the Flee The Scene, I will eventually be very much like the Warlock from a gaem called Shadowbane ))

I have decided on a few things. should I go the path of the Charm, my PRC will be Mindbender.

Shoudl I go the path of the shadow, i will be taking the shade template and a modified PRC from this (http://www.wakinglands.com/htm_files/the_prestige_classes_page.htm) page called the shadowmage.

if i take the path of evil , i will probably take a modified cancer mage from the BOVD

and if i take the path of the mental warlock, i wll need help creating a PRC according.

anyone wanna help me here?

honestly, there isnt much for us to say here.
the choice all depends on how you view your character, and what you think would ring truest to his particular being.

any of the choices might work. it is all a matter of what you see him doing -- what he would do.

so, my best advice is simply to pick one, be it for your own personal reasons or because you think it fits the character idea best, and then play it. dont ever look back, either. just go, and enjoy. youve got more into this character already than lots of other players have, so enjoy it.

:: sigh :: . . . . i guess your right . . . I have to make my decision. I can't just spend life wondering what the best idea is. i have grasp my future, no matter what that leads me to. I have to be who i am!1 I have to grap the shadows, my mind, my voice, the escence of evil! I have to choose !! I WILL !! When the time comes . . . the decision will be made, not by what I would do, but by what I WILL do! When the times comes, the answer will come to me, the warlock will prevail. i will survive. i will thrive. I am warlock. I am power!

And ona lighter note, please see my new PRC Burst Angel: Death's Angel for reviewing, thanks everyone, take care!
