| NinjaVulture04-03-06, 03:08 AM | I just had an encounter where two of my players was fighting a wizard of almost equal power to one of them. Both players had plenty of reflex saves and evasion feat. I almost killed one of them with magic missiles and Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter, before the other came to the rescue and then the wiz just blew spells at thin air. I think I have to make a top tuned Thief catcher Wizard as my next Player Character. I have pretty much stayed clear of playing wizards, the last I played was a Gnome illusionist/fighter in AD&D. That is why I come to you in search of inspiration. What am I to do to make such a character? I figured he should go for Enchantment and Divination and then boost the DC of the spells, but how do I get around the need for an outrageously good Spot skill? I think it may be fun to develop a new PrC for this kind of character. |
