From a development standpoint what class would make sense to take for the other side of a Warforged Psion(Shaper) NG alignment?

Basic personality type would be "Anything for a friend." With the warforged you have a character who has known nothing but war from creation, but in this case the warforged has taken the time to reflect on the nature of morality and has come to some conclusions about the world. 1. It needs help. 2. He is going to help it(even if he hasn't figured out how yet).

One thing: I can't see him(er...) as a paladin. He is interested in good only.

Warforged are created for War, so the first suggestion would be a fighter. You could give him the feat Adamantine Body for the best armor class. Then you will have a slow-moving, heavy armored psionic tank.

However, since your character has "taken the time to reflect on the nature of morality", he should have a great Wisdom score. What if he was a PsiWarrior instead? PsiWarrior/Ranger could be a good combo.

I think a great gestalt character that uses a psionic class would be the psiwarrior/fighter. The amount of feats youd get would be awsome..and since warforged are created for war he could just soup up his already great fighting capabilites with his psionic's.

I know its not a psion, but it could still work for your concept.

I will take both of those suggestions into consideration, however I am still pretty set on this idea and to give a better idea of my concept I have written a basis for my character's mindset:

I have long since forgotten my 'name'. I was created countless decades ago. I am a monster created only for war. However, I have rejected my nature. Whoever created me had a very ironic sense of humor. I am a construct, and yet I was created psionic. The irony sets in when one takes into account my ability(and primary function) to create astral constructs to fuel whichever army I happen to be part of. I have decided that I don't like fighting wars for other people. If I fight I wish to do it on my terms and for a cause I deem worthy.

I detest evil. I know that my creator was evil. I have learned to look past the mold into which I am supposed to fit. "Warforged" What a horrible scar to have to carry through my existance. I, however, do not let the weight of that drag me under. In the time since my creation I have seen many things besides war. These things appeal to me ona completely new level. The most fascinating to me is the idea of friendship. One being bonding with another on a level where they reach an understanding and are willing to fight and die for each other. While I do not need foor or shelter, I know that a friend would give such things to a friend who was without. An idea linked and equally fascinating to me is love. Love is something I fear I cannot truely comprehend without becoming a living breathing creature. What does it mean to taste something and realize it is delightful to that particular sense? What does it feel like to touch another. This is something that seems quite powerful among many race's cultures. Embracing seems to bring a sense of relief and support. I do not need support. I would like to say that I wish to know these things so much that it hurts(thats an expression I have heard), but I do not feel pain. What is this sensation I do feel?

An idea I am considering right now is almost going "pinochio" with him later(with the feat(or whatever it is) in Races of Ebberon that makes warforged into flesh and blood beings).

Any help is appreciated :thinks:

It's actually a prestige class, the Reforged. It's kind of like the opposite of the Juggernaut. Three levels, at the end of which the warforged has given up some of his living construct traits in favor of being a living creature. At the end of it, you give up all feats classified for Warforged only, but you get an equal number of feats useable for living creatures. In addition to the fluff behind it, this class has an interesting potential for remaking a character that might have been damaged in its earliest levels - some warforged feats are really front-loaded, that is, great right after you get them but of less and less use as time goes on.

If you only take the first level of Reforged, you get a huge bonus for warforged - the ability to heal naturally. Second level gives you the full benefits of healing magic applied to you, which is always nice. It's at third level that you have to take an industrial sized eraser to your character sheet.

The reforged gets a middlin' attack bonus and good Will saves. Hit dice d8, 4+Int skill points, and some other bonuses that amplify use of Wis and Cha skills.

All in all, an interesting modification for a warforged, especially a gestalt. Use wisely.

Astral Construct isn't on the Power List for a Psychic Warrior, it's only for the Psion. But as per your background, I think you are more an intelligent psion than a wise psychic warrior. You understand what is good and evil, and it's correct, but you don't need an high wisdom for this base. However, you have learned that friendship can be great and love awesome, and you seem to be looking to feel those concepts. Definetively more intelligent than wise. That also fit the concept of a warforged who wants to do good but is abused by anyone.

I wasn't aware of the Reforged PrC, it looks awesome!
