08-05-06, 02:54 AM My twink... I mean player, wants to be a Half Celestial Goliath Were Bear and I am having some trouble fleshing out his background.
So far the only thing I have is that there is a clan of goliath were bears in the mountains and he is the choosen one granted celestial powers, but for what?

And tell him it'd better be well-written and have depth, or the character concept's a no-go.

Especially since the Half-Celestial Template grants IMMUNITY TO DISEASE. So he couldn't have caught lycanthropy after being born.

08-05-06, 12:33 PM If he's a natural lycanthrope, there's nothing really wrong with it from a rules perspective.

And it's not oing to be as twinkish as it sounds. Werebear comes with a few (crappy) racial HD, and something in the neighborhood of LA+7.

Both parents are from the Goliath Werebear tribe that protects the mountains and forest from unholy abominations like vampires and beholders and what have you.
He was choosen by the gods to combat the evil that is the undead hordes that are sailing from the south into the land of the living.
I think I am going to go with him being raised by celestials.

Realising the threat that the undead horde played upon the region, a powerful celestial unhatched a plan to indirectly battle the growing evil. Blessing a widowed goliath werebear mother with a child through immaculant conception, the Celestial watched over the child to raised it to be a trained fighter skilled in battling evil aberrations.
