Tiefling Duskblade [Archive] - Wizards Community

I am working on a new character for my Wife's Forgotten Realms game. I am playing a 5th level Duskblade / 1st level Rogue. My character is also a Tiefling and I took the outsiders wings feats to have bat wings. The character is Chaotic Neutral. He is 28 years old.

I am looking for ideas to flesh out his background. I was thinking about him being born in Calimport and to have a very poor and abused youth. I have already made a referance to his mother making her living on her back in the first session and decided that he is ****** off by it. I was also thinking that his mother is dead at this point.

The things I need help on is how did he become a rogue and how did he go from a rogue to a duckblade. Any suggestions would really help.

08-06-06, 02:44 PM Okay rogue part easy...being a tiefling with bat wings he owuld not have fit in very well with the rest of society...also if his mother lived as you stated he would not have had very much money in that department...so he became a rogue to survive on the streets.

NOw as for learning the path of the Duskblade that is a little bit tricky...personally I would assume that at some point after his mother died another duskblade found him on the streets (maybe the duskblade just saw him or perhaps he tried to pick his pockets) and took pity on him for some reason or other...then when it appeared he had so talent for the arts of combat and magic the duskblade trained him in the arts to allow him to better fend for himself without having to resort to more illeagal methods or simply so he could defend himself better and use it to his pure advantage.

Just a few thoughts that came to mind to try and help.

08-06-06, 03:16 PM I like the concept of a mentor finding and training him. I would like the character to be motivated to "help himself" as well as recieve guidence from the menotr. I was thinking about adding in some details about how the character left the slums, after his mother died, went to a different city like Waterdeep or Neverwinter and forged a new Identiy. Once that is done he enrolls in one of the colleges. Maybe this is where the mentor finds him. Maybe the mentor learns about his lie and must save him somehow.

What you think? Anyother Ideas on how to get a tiefling rogue to turn duskblade in Forgotten Realms. Any details about Forgotten Realms concerning this idea would be helpful.

08-07-06, 12:27 PM maybe he was a duskblade first. then simply multi-classed to rogue because it work for the enviorment that he was in (say, i don't know... calimport).
