I making a level 1 teifling rogue from Mulholrand i gave him the education feat from the forgotten realms books. I was thinking this character to be a diplomat of sorts. Weather its by talking or killing, he's LE. I was thinking of giving him a few levels in assasin and something else later on. The way i picture him hes very smart and knowledable about alot of things. hes good at what he does....which is solving problems with other countries. Sometimes the means on how its done is unknown to the country that hired him. Any ideas on how I could expand on this? Like should he be in a guild? what would a good overall goal be for adventuring?

Zhentarim. At least that's how I think its spelled. You most definitly want to be a Zhent.

The Black Network as they are often called is perhaps the biggest organization of spies, thieves, and assassins in all Faerun. They are heavily backed by the Church of Bane and are some of the most duplicitous b-----ds in the land. They have their hand in almost every pot of illegal trade from slaves to smuggling. Best of all they are very political... especially around the unnaproachable east and Thay in particular.

(*digs out faerun books*)

players guide to faerun, page 77 - Zhent Spy. you get cover identities, sneak attack, gain shield and medium armour prof, undetectable alignment, poison use (always nice for that evil streak) and it's only 5 levels.

never discount some more classic PrC's either, if you're going sneaky, arcane trickster is a great way to go. get some use outta that +2 int from tiefling. imagine sneak attacking with a polar ray :-D sure your attack bonus is a wizards. touch AC is kinda hard to boost! wands of ray of frost will be your friend, and sneaking is quite a bit easier when you have invisibility on your side!

nothing wrong with just going with the assassin as a PrC, assassins fit in with the Zhents very well.
