| Drag0nUL04-20-07, 03:09 PM | I am preparing a new character for an Eberron campaign; he is to be a LN tiefling wizard 5/eldritch knight 3/abjurant champion 2. I have a few ideas about him, but I need some help developing them into a coherent personality: Background: He was the son a Cyrian noble family with a long line of fiendish heritage and quite gifted in both arcane and martial disciplines; therefore he was accepted into the Cyrian Royal Guard(my DM has agreed to make the Abjurant Champion a prestige class for this organization); Then, only a few weeks before the end of the Last War(for those unfamiliar with Eberron, the Last War was a war of succession that ravaged the entire continent for about 100 years, and ended with the complete destruction of the nation of Cyre in a blast of some unknown arcane energy) the Royal Guard was sent to the front lines to spearhead a Cyrian counter-offensive. He died bravely in battle and ended in Dollurrh(the Eberron realm of the dead). Due to his power and fiendish heritage, he attracted the attention of the leaders of this realm and offered a deal: he is to be returned to life in exchange for his services as an agent of the Underworld on the material plane(Eberron has a quite interesting and to date ambiguous cosmlogy-hope to see a 'Planes of Eberron' soon-, in which the outer planes revolve around the material plane, reaching their closest and farthest point of their orbit at intervals ranging from years to millenia; the farther away the plane is, the more limited the influence its inhabitants can exert on the material plane; therefore they needed an agent native to the material plane). He is returned to the material plane only a short time after the complete destruction of his homeland; and now, in the aftermath of the war, having lost all he ever knew, he walks the world fulfilling the orders of his master( a LN ultroloth). Other facts: He is a very cautious and calculated man; he likes to study the situation carefully before taking action and he plays to exploit his enemy's weaknesses and negate his strengths. His array of spells reflects this: he uses scrying a lot and in combat he emphasises control spells(grease, evard's black tentacles, solid fog) and debuffs(slow, ray of enfeeblement, ray of exhaustion). So, what do you think the personality of such a cahracter will be like? |

And since Dollurh is subjective time he spent practically an eternity there (more time than he can keep track of, but only about two years in material plane time) feeding only on hatred and lust for revenge. P.S.: Sorry for the double post. Completely forgot about the edit button. That's what you get if you post at 4 a.m. |
