Vanuatu (no, I DON'T watch Survivor - but I really thought the name was catchy ;) ) was a tribal warrior in his homeland, the hot, rain-soaked southern jungles. When he was 16, Vanuatu's village was invaded by the Scarlet Brotherhood and his people (those who survived) were enslaved. Vanuatu spent several years on a galley as a slave rower, chained to a bench with 3 other slaves. As he survived the years of mistreatment and punishing physical labor, Vanuatu's hatred for the Scarlet Brotherhood smoldered and burned. Eventually, Vanuatu reached physical maturity, towering over the other Touv slaves aboard the ship. One day, after a particularly brutal beating at the hands of the slavers, Vanuatu broke his chains free from the rowers’ bench. Wielding his chains as weapons, Vanuatu lead a mutiny, overwhelming the Brotherhood slavers and taking control of the galley. Van is an uneducated but intelligent man, slow to anger but a brutal combatant - especially when his freedom or the liberty of others is at stake. Vanuatu will start as a Barbarian, but he'll probably work to mostly Fighter levels as he progresses. He'll wield spiked chains, as a reminder of his past and a symbol of his freedom. Thoughts? Too cheesy?? |

You have a lot of room for your character after he wins his freedom. I like the added touch of wielding a spiked chain, too. |
