| UltimateReality11-01-05, 11:18 PM | I wasn't sure if this belonged here or in the Eberron boards, so I went with here. :) What I've got is a changeling bard3 of House Phiarlan who has two identities...the DM wants some info on prior adventures for nummy plot hook use later. :D The cover identity, Briella Corleis, I've got figured out. Her real identity (Brie) is giving me issues. Here's what I've got for a backstory so far... -street orphan from Fairhaven, Aundair as long as she can remember -Copper Dragon, an orphanage run by church of Boldrei, took her in at four yrs old -kept changing form and escaping, hung out with Whiteroof sailor crowd and learned Elven and how to lie through her teeth -Lady Illa (an NPC in another PC's background) adopted her and educated her extensively for the House's inscrutable purposes -book learning = not interesting, but important -physical training: hide 'n seek, mazes, roguey stuff -taught how to impersonate people and encouraged to do so -Lady Illa was invited to a party and couldn't go, Brie intercepted the reply and changed it to say Lady Illa was coming. Brie went secretly in her stead. Lady Illa was murdered while Brie was gone. -devastated, etc. etc., owes life to house, etc. etc. loyalty blah blah blah a bit of angst and character motivation -sent to work in Whiteroof district setting up base contacts in area and works at a bar (perhaps ultimately funded by the house?) -some work in pre-mourning cyre passing coded info from a plant/other contact on to back home...received a message one day to leave the country immediately. 3 days later, the Mourning happened. -some on-the-job training in thrane and karnnath, possibly spying or shadowing another operative of house phiarlan or smth. maybe some wacky adventure with nearly blowing her cover? something involving her house's cover as an entertainer? -back to Whiteroof and into the current adventure... -has to meet Arran d'Phiarlan (an elf rogue who was also adopted by Lady Illa) and possibly do missions with him. Unsure of contact at childhood. (He was an elf and may have been around for part of her growing up.) The last bit is what's giving me the most problems: what would a level 2-3 bard of House Phiarlan be doing in Thrane and Karrnath? She would likely have no idea of the true purpose of her missions either. I am completely stuck on this and want to give my DM some fun meaty bits to work with for future adventures. :) Any inspiration is much appreciated. |
