| Raynx03-20-07, 05:02 PM | So, this girl I know is a painter. I try to contribute to her art by offering up my miniatures for her imagination to run away with. As a result, I now have two monsters that look much cooler than I could have hoped for, but I don't know what to do with them. I would appreciate some advice from anyone, please. The first is a bugbear. He carries a heavy spiked club (not a technical term, just a description) and has white hair. I take it that he is either very old, or some offshoot that lives in snowy regions. A "Polar (bug)Bear" if you will. On its other arm it carries a heavy wooden shield bearing the mark of what appears to be a two-eyed beholder with a nose and ears...and earrings... It carries a severed head on its belt, so I assume its not friendly. Its mostly unarmored, with the exception of chain-mail on its forearms, one shoulder (and a pauldron of iron, I presume), and some more fashioned into a kilt of sorts. Its right leg is bandaged from heel to knee, and it has some grey fur fastened about its other leg and arms by leather bands. Its mace/club/thing is, for the most part, set down, but its shield is somewhat raised, though held to the side. Its head is slightly slanted. It looks to me as if its observing something, or preparing to go to war but stopped to talk to someone. For the most part, its stance is not threatening. The second is a troglodyte. It carries a sword that appears to be either the fang of some giant...thing...or crudely made of stone, in one hand. In the other, it holds a shield that appears to be a shell of a turtle, or perhaps the carapace of a beetle. The trog's body is painted a shiny black, like obsidian, all over, including its teeth and claws. Its sword is blue and held in the right hand. Likewise, its right eye is the same color blue. The shield is red and in the left hand, as the left eye is also red. There is either purple or blue (I'm colorblind) glitter scattered about its back, though not in abundance. It has its sword raised to eye level, upwards, but its mouth is closed. The stance tells me that it is either waiting to ambush, or it is intimidated into defending itself, not desiring to attack. I was thinking about making it a Mineral Warrior Troglodyte, at least, but I don't know what else... Any ideas? |

| Fithero03-20-07, 09:26 PM | What are you actually asking? Do you want a background for these two creatures... or do you want us to tell you where to put them in your room? |
| Raynx03-24-07, 06:44 PM | Yes, I would like a background. I have a homebrew world, but it follows most of the core principles, so it shouldn't have a major impact on these two. |
