| Squee_Archpsion03-07-06, 04:51 PM | I'm going to play a paladin of tyranny(unearthed arcana) drow and I was looking on how I could play him since I have always done good-chaotic neutral characters. |
| MasterOfPsychic03-08-06, 04:39 AM | Hmm.. Lawful Evil, right? How is his mental stats? Normaly he would be ploting long, timetaking plots on how to enslave people.. HE is patient.. He looks upon others as simply subjects waiting to be subjugated. Walking wealth in other words. The only friends he have, are people who can help him, which he slay when they start becomming to powerful, so they can challenge him. |
| Fithero03-08-06, 09:25 AM | A paladin of tyranny is a pretty odd choice for a drow... almost as unique as a chaotic good ranger with two scimitars :pbbbtt: Ok, so he is a lawfull evil drow who has a divine link, lolth is out since she only ever does females (mostly anyway). The only other drow god who seems passable as one to choose a PoT would be Selvetarm (who is neutral evil at best) (Faiths and Pantheons) who is the drow god of warriors and "those who like to kill". If you dont want that, you could go one of the standard gods such as Bane, or if you wanted to make it interesting, you could follow Kelemvor (LN god of the dead)... its a stretch... but i can see it working. As far as how you would play him, your word is your bond. You dont give your word lightly and you follow it to the letter no matter what. Your sense of justice is warped though, and you may see an eye for an eye to be acceptable out in the wilds. Back in town, you let the local law do the talking, but you make sure people get the harshest punishment possible. Always follow superiors orders, unless the become weak and fail, then you can overthrow them. Only the strong survive and allow those that follow to prosper. Since your a paladin of tyranny however.. your equal parts evil as you are lawfull. You have detailed plans, perhaps you protect one of the many "hoods" in your city or some such thing. Anybody who makes a wrong move in there has to face your brutal laws... which usually have overlly brutal punishment. If he ever became the ruller of a city, you might... loose a hand for theft, be casturated for adultry and some such things.... really over the top. Hope this helps somewhat. Later |

Soemthing along the lines of the Ten Commandments, maybe. Seeing as your character is a Paladin of Tyranny, the code should be pretty warped, but make sure it has a few redeeming factors. Perhaps something like this... I. You shall always uphold the values of [insert patron deity] and obey the edicts of his/her church. Try, in all things you essay, be and act like unto [insert patron deity] II. You yourself are your own most important possession - at all times hold yourself and your life to be most precious and valuable. III. Those that are weak deserve not their power. Where you can, take from them their power, that it may be your own. Through your ability to make the power your own, you have proven your worth. IV. Respect your betters, for they are greater, wiser, stronger, and more deserving than you. Obey them, for by holding their power they have proven their worth. V. Expect your inferiors to respect and obey you, for you are greater, wiser, stronger and more deserving than they. They belong to you and are yours to destroy, should they displease you. By holding your power you have earned this right and proven your worth. VI. Your word is your bond - never give it lightly. When you do, obey the tenets of the oath that you swore. To do otherwise is a misdeed of great magnitude. ... And so forth. To be honest I don't have the patience to finish the code, much as I don't have the patience to play Lawful characters. Anyway, once you have your code, try to be as unpleasant, malicious, sadistic, overbearing, haughty and generally unpleasant as possible without breaking your code. Do that, and you will be successfully playing Lawful Evil (in my eyes, at any rate) |
| Banzeira03-13-06, 04:58 AM | I see it as rather fun that you have chosen a Lawful Evil Drow.. since the norm is Chaotic Evil... I could surgest you might make it a female, since they are the main power in the Drow community... and no you dont have to take up lvls as cleric of Lolth if you choose a femaleŽ.. but you will have to tell in your background story that Lolth had some other purpose with you... you could make it a supreem Matron Mother in time, if you later on chose to adopt cleric though. Well I think you will have to look even closer on what you say to people... normally drow would give their word in a second and turn back on it the next... You cant do that (being Lawful), so you should watch out giving yor word to anyone... I like the idea above about the commentment nice :) |
