| Epicuris08-06-04, 01:32 PM | I just started playing in a new campaign that I thought was going to run out of steam after the first three session. I've never been more happy to be wrong. The whole idea of the campaign is humans are expanding their lands too quickly and pushing the other inhabitance out. (There have been hints that something much more malicious is happening than mere expansion, but that is a mystery to be solved.) Here's the kicker... the DM has only allowed gnomes, goblins, and kobolds to be player races because these are the lands the humans are expanding into. While the others of our races continue to battle each other as well as the humans, our group has put aside our differences long enough to fight a more powerful foe. Here's the group so far: Gnome Fighter - 3rd level, going for a finesse two-handed fighter Kobold Sorcerer - 3rd level, focuses on utility and stealth Kobold Cleric - 3rd level, awsome healer and crowd control Goblin Rogue - 3rd level, has gotten us out of so many scrapes Goblin (Blue) Psion - 3rd level (DM dropped the +1 level adjustment, doesn't understand why it is there), Shaper going for Constructor PrC, has a familiar instead of a psicrystal, but still had to take a feat for it So far, it's been a blast playing the "peon" races. So far we've had that perfect balance of roleplaying and action. But it got me to thinking of other peoples' "unique" campaign experiences and I'd like to hear them. If you've had a less-than-typical campaign, tell us the story. |
