Currently playing an evil Fighter in the local military, on a series of quests for dark power, which will eventually lead to him becoming a blackguard. The path leading him this way is an enchanted amulet which shares magical knowledge with the wearer (demon-possessed amulet, seeking to rebuild and strengthen the cult of an ancient & forgotten Blood Goddess, uses Divination/Sending powers to find allies and resources). So what I need is a history. The character is 34 and started fighting at 15, so should be a veteran with a diverse history as a warrior. My ideas so far: - From an urban and heavily civilised society (already playing a feudal Gailic paladin). - Civilian family background. Learn to kill through other means. Fights with short sword at first, but later on favours great axe. - Becomes a berserker due to savage bloodlust overcoming his weakening humanity. No ties with barbarian culture. Possibly demonic favour (Nalfashnee) involved. - Rises through the ranks as both a warrior and a tactician, able to control his rages. Now favours heavy armour, although still fights with an axe. - How to earn his evil alignment? Selling slaves from wars? Blood fueds? - Commands his own legion. Begins an inquisition to seek personal power. Uncovers cults, and consorts with them. - Princess of home city finds his ambitions and sabotages them. Shatters his legion and has him exiled. Flees the region. Looking for suggestions as to how he became a fighter, and possibly how to weave more evil into his backstory.
warwinner 06-25-07, 01:00 AM	The evilisation is gradual.Disagreeing with superiors, mercilessness to enemies, addiction to blood and battle [first the blood of evil, then blood of enemies and at last anyone's blood] Maybe a eventual love of blood and finding illegal ways to obtain it for consumption.Linking him eventually to an underground network of humanoid vampires Maybe he eventually falls in with a dark vampire who knights him a servant of his dark gods [making him a blackguard]
