Here is the template (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/monstersTtoZ.html#vampire). It says that it's a template that can be added to any humanoïd or monstrous humanoïd. A drow is an humanoïd, so yes. An Aasimar is an outsider, so no, it can't become a vampire. Basically, you become an evil undead. You keep your mind, but in a twisted way. You are now "immortal", compared to an humanoïd. You have the power to create spawns who are loyal minions. You gain a bonus in many abilities, but you gain also a Level adjustment of +8, making you a poor spellcaster. |

The template benefits sorcerers better than other casters, IMO. Fighters also benefit from the increased str, lack of critical hits, and other undead abilities, but suffer for lack of HP. A Sorcerer 12/Vampire 8, though, is a nasty sight to try and fight. And you can always finish up Sorcerer in epic. |

| Mirikon12-05-04, 08:03 PM | Actually, now that I think about it, a Warlock Vampire would be the best. Boosts to cha which ups DCs, and the warlock doesn't suffer as much from loss of caster levels as wizards and sorcerers do. |

That way you can still have a chance of reaching higher levels as a sorcerer and get access to new spells and feats that are offered to Vampire scions along with a prestige class that helps vampire magic-users considerably. |
