| Dharan_Aelorothi11-22-06, 11:23 PM | If you heard about my other thread, http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=10711117#post10711117 then you know something of Vheddan. But here's his story/personality, for you to critique!!!!! :D HISTORY: Vheddan Aerendyl Van Kaithe was born to two wealthy half-elven parents in the city of Silverymoon. He was an accidental baby, and has been causing trouble since before he even fell out of the womb onto his head (or so says his mother, after paying his jail bail). He was the third male child, out of five total children, and the second youngest. At home, he was always getting the short end of the stick, since his two older brothers were both “destined for greatness,” his two sisters were growing in fame as seamstresses, and his one younger brother was an intellectual prodigy (though when he reached Vheddan’s current age, Vheddan was a lot smarter, his parents just didn’t notice). Vheddan pretty much spent his childhood thieving, being caught, thieving again, being caught again, followed by some more thieving. He paid some attention to his tutors, and pretty much coasted along on natural talent. He only actually applied himself (for HIM it was applying) to learning the sword from one of the Van Kaithe family’s friends, an old elven blademaster who called himself Vanyi Clanless. He never explained his name to anyone except Vheddan’s parents, but Vheddan really didn’t care. It was a family tradition for all children (sons and daughters) to learn the elven thinblade and the elven lightblade. Though he was born a rather weak child (a thing he doesn’t like to admit, though he himself is aware of it), his reflexes were honed sharp from stealing from other denizens of Silverymoon. He quickly mastered the two styles enough to pass, and loved to boast about “the quickest blades in Silverymoon, and in fact, the whole Silver Marches!” Yes, I know, he’s supposed to be a wizard, but I’m getting to that. Eventually, his second oldest brother was crippled from defending Vheddan from some toughs he stole from. Though both thugs were hauled off to jail, his older brother got some nasty knife cuts. He had to relearn everything with his left hand, since his right was nearly severed and doesn’t function properly anymore. His parents quietly decided that they had had enough. They bought him a few things (he was their son and all, and they were somewhat forgiving, but still) like new blades, some clothes, and a few other oddities and interesting items, and then shunted him off to the magic academy at Silverymoon (anyone know any names of magical academies in Silverymoon?). To everyone there’s surprise (not to mention his own and that of his parents), he had a natural talent at it (Not sorcery, mind you). He quickly mastered most fire spells and a variety of other schools of magic, though he preferred fire. He somehow managed to master magic while wooing the beautiful mages’ apprentices at the same time :D. His casting of spells that required hand gestures were almost twice as fast as those of his mentors, due to his natural dexterity honed to a point with a combination of his thieving and sword training. Eventually, he graduated at the top of his class, even though most of his teachers would have burnt him to a crisp during his first year of school. Since then, he has embarked on a “holy crusade” to woo and sleep with one woman of every nationality (not including *****s, but he doesn’t mind those in his downtime :D). So, essentially, he’s traveling around Faerun on a quest that will most likely cause his death: Being slapped to death by some goddess or another. PERSONALITY: Vheddan is of medium height (5’11) and he’s kind of skinny and lean (120 lbs). He has flame red hair, blue eyes, and his skin is slightly pale. He wears his hair in a red tail slightly below his shoulders. He is handsome in a roguish way, and is always quick to wink and smile at a pretty lass. He disdains what he refers to “those sissy bathrobes” and prefers to wear normal clothes or leather armor. He carries a staff, but he rarely (if ever) uses it in physical combat. He prefers the matching elven thinblade and lightblade he keeps at his hip. His wardrobe usually consists of leather or brown dyed pants, knee or calf-high boots, a snowy white shirt, and a red coat embroidered with gold over a thin, concealable masterwork leather cuirass. He wears a short red cape, which he often flings over his left arm. When decked for travel, his clothes are made of less expensive material, but are no less flamboyant. He also (when traveling) attaches a mwk potion belt to his sword belt, and dons a mwk bandoleer and a mwk scroll case. He also pulls on a case of rods and wands. His weapons are covered in red gems and gold inlays/filigree, and the lightblade has patterns of flames on the hilt, blade, and pommel. He is cocky, arrogant, and a general pain in the butt to be around, but he is very creative and inventive. He loves magical items and interesting, innovative mundane ones. A new, upgraded version of a wand holster would probably interest him more then the little gold statuette of a nude woman the party just uncovered. He is deathly afraid of the color cyan on clothes, and also of skeletons. He HATES skeletons. Also, due to a curse placed on him by a soothsayer after he put the moves on her daughter, whenever he hears the word “Breeches,” he immediately gets the uncontrollable urge to pee. Deep down, he’s intelligent and thoughtful, with a good heart, but he decided to lock those away in a room that is ventilated with potsmoke. That’s all I got for now. :D |
