Okay, I have the basics of my character's background done, I think. I still need some ideas for a few parts and could use an overall critiquing. Vorelthrae is a 20 year old Draconic Spellscale sorceress. (Equivalent of about 24 in Human years.) Her mother is an Elven sorceress and her father was a Draconic Wild Elf barbarian/sorcerer. Vorelthrae's mother was 162 when Vorelthrae was born and is 182 years old now. Vorelthrae's father was 130 years old when Vorelthrae was born and is now deceased. Vorelthrae's mother Kethama was fascinated with dragons and took to traveling at a fairly young age (130s) to learn more about them. She traveled the continent, learning what she could. In the meantime, [something happened at her old town so she couldn't go back]. When she returned home, she discovered this, and after [doing whatever she could to clean up the mess], she set out again. This time, in her travels, she stuck mostly to the woods (like her home). After a few months of traveling, she blundered into the Blue Leaf Tribe of wood elves, where she met Fintirthar the draconic wood elf. It was nearly winter, and she stayed with them for the season. Come spring she continued her travels, but the following winter she returned to the tribe and was welcomed. She continued this pattern of going and returning until she was considered practically a member of the tribe, welcome to their hospitality at any time. She and Fintirthar became friends, with some romantic elements to their relationship though they did not marry. Fintirthar, though not the tribe leader, was held in high regard in the tribe for his unusual strength and abilities. When Kethama became pregnant, the tribe's healers advised her to take care of herself and not to do any magic, which could affect her child, but Kethama was stubborn and did not like being dependant on others to take care of her. She did stop traveling during her pregnancy, but continued to use her magic to help the tribe and take care of her needs. When Vorelthrae was born, her scales and wings were considered, if not normal, at least understandable given her parentage. However, as she grew it became obvious that she was not as unaffected by her mother's magic use as had been hoped. Vorelthrae matured far too quickly and was capable of magic at a shockingly young age. Her mother accepted this (though the rest of the tribe was uncomfortable) and began traveling again, now with Vorelthrae, when the child was only 10 years old (about 14 in Human years). They stayed fairly close to the Blue Leaf Tribe until Fintirthar was killed one day in a hunting accident. Without his support, Vorelthrae was no longer welcome in the tribe. With Kethama starting to slow down and not be as able to adventure, Vorelthrae made the decision to leave her mother with Kethama's adopted family and set out on her own. Since then, Vorelthrae has traveled the continent, enjoying both the business of the cities and the solitude of the wilderness. She especially is interested in learning about other races and her own draconic heritage.
