Well, post your wacky idea character concept!

Note that it doesn't have to be anything special, just don't go with the impossible combinations, like playing Deep Gnome Sorcerers ;)
And these characters are in some way suppouse to be play-able

I'm kind of getting bored of the generic characters, so plz post

I've got two ideas :)

The first one was to play a Maximized (by rod) Awakened Baboon with a Spike Chain that has all skills spent in Craft :)
(I actually want to play that one )

The second one is to have a Human Fighter that Monkey Griped A Spike Chain and a Glaive. He invented a new type of crossbow that is similar to a minigun (:P) Also, he's a master of crafts, and he has the locksmiting craft, and he has everything under at least four locks :)

Small Human (Strange mishap with a reduce spell - made permanent) Fighter/Forsaker who weilds Bronzewood weapons and rides a Rust Monster.

Not recommended for co-operative games ^_^

An old mage (gotta wait for higher levels) who refuses to walk anymore. He always teleports place to place, or levitates, and will fight either levitating, flying, or sitting down on a stool he keeps in an extra-dimensional pocket. He also has a Hand of the Mage around his neck and constantly complains about how "these old bones aren't what they used to be!"

A social skills rogue that uses Sleight of Hand to steal from the rich AND uses Sleight of Hand to give to the poor. So he gets no blame for crimes and no recognition for charity.

Two here...

The first isn't actually a DnD character, but it was neat enough that I have to reprint it. This character was made for Champions RPG (for playing super heroes). He was a telekineticist, able to move things around with his mind. In that game system, you had to buy flaws to compensate for your powers -- secret identy (Superman), vulnerable relative (Aunt May), etc. The party in question worked rather well together and thought nothing was out of the ordinary with the char in question. That is until they were hit with something that turns their super powers off. Then they realized that this Telekineticist was completely paralyzed. Turns out one of the flaws he took was 'quadrapalegic', but he used his power to move his body around as if nothing was amiss. :mymy:

Next is a submission for the strangest character ever.

The character starts off innocently enough as a Druid/Sorcerer. Then everything goes awry as he taps into magical sources of power that mortals were not meant to know about, let alone use. He begins taking on physical characteristics of the creatures he has been wild shaping into, but on a permanent basis. Then, as he progresses, he gains the ability to manipulate his appearance. As a trade off, he gains some special powers associated with his new animal characteristics, can squeeze his body through small openings, and can communicate telepathically with other beings. He also has the uncanny ability to know things beyond what he should know. Despite all these powers, he cannot find a way to stop his slow transformation into something that has no resemblance to any creature ever seen.

Now to do this with a character build - Druid 5 / Sorcerer 4 / Geomancer 6 / Mindbender 1 / Oozemaster 4

1 - Druid 1 - Great Fortitude, Eschew Materials
2 - Druid 2 -
3 - Druid 3 -
4 - Druid 4 -
5 - Druid 5 -
6 - Sorcerer 1 - Natural Spell
7 - Sorcerer 2 -
8 - Sorcerer 3 -
9 - Sorcerer 4 - Leadership
10 - Geomancer 1 -
11 - Oozemaster 1 -
12 - Geomancer 2 - Extra Wild Shape
13 - Oozemaster 2 -
14 - Geomancer 3 -
15 - Mindbender 1 - feat
16 - Geomancer 4 -
17 - Oozemaster 3 -
18 - Geomancer 5 - feat
19 - Oozemaster 4 -
20 - Geomancer 6 -

As the character progresses, he can be seeking aid to stop or slow his change, but is forced to use the powers it grants him, thus furthering his problems. He uses natural spell with his wild shape because it eases the pain of his transformation. His sorcerer spells should be of the type that cause no visible effects. Divinations and Enchantments are a good choice, but some necromancy spells can also be used to this effect. As a rule, I'd progress either sorcerer spellcasting exclusively, or mix it sorcerer 2/3 to druid 1/3. This guy will by no means be a super beat stick, but that's not what this thread is about.

Anyway, I've always wanted to try this character as a 5th or 6th party member. It seems like it would be a lot of fun to spring on your fellow party members, without putting them at risk or on the spot because of your "disadvantages".

Cheers

Otto :)

I've always thought a Wolf-in-sheeps-Clothing would be an intresting monster to play, especially as a Monk.

Temporal Filcher Samurai (i've actually played this one!)
Celestial Chwidencha Paladin of Freedom
Anthropomorphic Stonespike Savage Bard
Jynx Rogue/Wizard
Famine Spirit Druidic Avenger (with vow of poverty!)
Ormyrr Shaman/Fighter

That would be a fun party!... :D

Sue Delicroix was born shortly after his fathers death. His mother cocerned with out a father he may become weak, named him so cruely to toughen him up. Naturaly he was singled out, not only for being born after the death of his father, and his name, but because he grew so slowly. This also meant beatings, and it wasn never just one boy it was atleast three. Occasionaly some one would break up the fight, but usual it only ended when his tormentors got bored of beating him.

Then one day it happened. Sue wasn't afriad of being hurt anymore and started fighting back. He threw himself into his oppents. It took two men to pry Sue off of his victim. He had to be draged away kickign biting and scartching. He was there after called "Sue the little brawler".

He constantly used weapons too heavy for some one his age. Eventualy he moved up to a great sword at 16. But in sue's words " It wasn't a challenge to weild any more so i moved up to something larger". At this point Sue had already grown to his full height of five feet five inches. He called in a favor with his cousin the caravans Smithy, Sen, and had him start on a Full Blade.

Outside the caravan he general easy to find, as his swors a good foot and half taller then he is. He'll only reveal his true first name when he wishes to cheer some on close to him up, on threat of horrible death by full blade if you tell any one else.

its my personal opinon that if you want a truely wacky character, start simple, dont go for gag combinations out the gate, just let the craziness happen of its own accord.

I play this character in Living Greyhawk with my wifes half-elf sorceress.

The Halfling is a deep halfling that was "lost" when his family went on a picnic to the surface. The surface is several miles above thier colony and it opens into a swamp. The Halfling and cheery and easily entertained. Truth be told he is something of a ditz, but he is fiercly loyal and helpfull. So much so that his family became exasperated by his crazy logic and complete oblivion to sublety and social graces.

About 3 weeks after being abandoned The Halfling figured out that his family had left him. He was quite upset until a brightly colored bird flew by, which he immediatly began to chase so he could give it a big hug.

Being a happy simple creature that loved nature he is perfectly happy to live in the swamp and scaveng items form travellers and explorers who meet thier fate in the swamp. His prized possesion is a fancy ladies hand mirror which he likes to make faces in.

One day the halfling awoke to find his little horde looted and his prized mirror gone. He tracked down the culprits and discovered a Kuo-Toa scouting party. The halfing became so angry that he broke a low branch off a tree and charged the creatures while they ate.

He knocked two unconcious before he saw his mirror. He immediatly grabbed it and began running as crude javelins were loosed against him.

Emerging from the edge of the swamp with two Kuo-Toa hot on his heels The Halfling ran strait into a small caravan heading to Greyhawk.

Among the caravan was a half-elf sorceress who immediatly loosed a spray of magic missiles, killing the Kuo-Toa instantly. The Halfling was awe-struck by this power. He was immediatly convinced that god had come to save him and he immediatly decided to dedicate his life to the service of "Girl" the greatest and mightiest god there is!

The Halfling is now a Barbarian 6 / Devoted Defender 4 and he spends all of his time protecting Girl. To the Halfing there is only Girl, Halfling the Divine Protector of Girl, and dumb people. Some people are so dumb they want to hurt Girl and if they try he whacks them good!

The Halfing can barely read or write and when pressed to read he simply makes up stories about mighty victories where Girl blows dumb people up and then gives The Halfling cookies.

The Halfing was actually quite young when abandoned and after about 12 years in the swamp alone he simply forgot his name as the other intellegent inhabitants of the swamp only refered to him as " Halfling" and "food."
