12-16-05, 10:33 PM He probably grew up in the Elemental Plane of Fire. Or a highly active volcanic area if they are natives of the campaign plane.

To be king, he would have had to been either a successor, a conqueror, or an electee. The MM states that each Azer has a specific place in society, and that only a handful would go rogue and leave to adventure. With a +4 LA, he would be an extremely powerful fighter (also their favoured class). They hate efreeti, so he could have been a phenomenal general who scored key victories in their ongoing conflict. Or he could have been destined to lead. It depends on the direction the character is going before designing where he's been.
