So I'm writing up a new character and finally its taking a bit of shape in my head. So read the Sblock for her bio and personality Anna Raimunde Anna was born and raised on a farm a few miles west of the village of Caderin and despite the shadow's final victory over the alliance of Elves, Dwarves and Men life wasn't that bad for the family. At least not at first. A cunning Orc commander had taken up station in Caderin and he had realized quickly enough that it wasn't a good idea to have his troops marauding and pillaging at random. Though it would get him quite a few nice goods in a short amount of time it would leave the countryside completely wasted and then where would he get the food to feed his troops? Even the humans would eventually run out right? That's what he figured anyway. So instead of burning everything to the ground the Orc decided to tax the area. And tax it heavily. Because if you're going to do something you gotta do it right. And that way the humans would be too weak and starving to put up much of a fight. So Whilst Anna grew up she grew up in relative safety, even though she also grew up in abject poverty the farm yielding just enough crops to keep up with the taxes and provide enough for the family. But always Anna felt like she was out of place somehow. When she was doing her chores on the farm she often found herself dreaming of far away places and distant lands and during the full moon she would have dreams. Strange dreams of something calling her away. On one autumn Anna could resist the strange call no longer. It was early in the morning when she packed whatever belongings she thought her family could spare and set out to find her destiny. The road to destiny is a long and winding path. As Anna walked out she had the misfortune of encountering an orc patrol on a misty morning. Upon seeing her the Orc boss thought of several things he could do with that little girl before roasting her over a fire and eating her under the starry sky. With a great roar he orders his troupe to charge and Anna just had just enough of a lead to disappear into a fog bank before the orcs overtook her. It was mostly just luck that the orcs missed her in the fog and Anna quickly hurried away as fast as she could. But as the sun rose the fog vanished and the orcs caught her trail again and pursued more slowly and carefully this time. Anna could do nothing but flee again. She hurried into a nearby glade where she came upon a most unusual sight. A statue of a warrior woman stood there deserted. The stone as white as alabaster was dressed in armor and carried a sword. Too tired to run any further Anne took the armor and the weapon and braced herself against the inevitable. The orcs burst recklessly through the bushes expecting to find a defenseless little girl and it was that fortune that gave Anna a fighting chance. The first orc appeared with his nose close to the ground keeping up with the tracks. Anna swung the large sword overhead and the blade cleft the foul beasts’ skull with a single stroke. The second one came surprised to see his companion slain he was too slow to draw his sword and Anna’s blade left the beast with only one leg to bleed out on. But the orc boss had heard the shouts of hid dying comrades and came through the bushes carefully with his large sword raised and ready. Anna who had never held a sword before in her life was no match for the battle hardened orc who had fought against stalwart men, nimble elves and stubborn dwarves. The monster advanced on Anna parrying her clumsy blows with easy and hammering his advantage home with his great strength. Finally Anna fell over backwards over the corpse of the first orc. Seeing that it was time for the kill the Orc boss raised his sword and plunged down on Anna. She screamed and closed her eyes but the fatal blow never came. When she looked up she saw that in her fall the point of the sword had come up and the orc had gutted himself just as it was about to deal the death blow. It took Anna the rest of the day to recover from this experience but she felt that this had been her trial by fire. She had, on her own defeated three orcs! Maybe she should take a trophy to show her skill. She thought. What would be a good one? She carefully took one of the orc’s foul jagged daggers and looked at their corpses. Then she threw up at the sight of them. All the thought of trophies and glory vanished from her mind Anne took the large sword, the armor and ran off again with the little strength she had left. Personality: Anne isn’t exactly sure what she is looking for on the open road. It would be safer, a LOT safer for her to go back home and become a farmer. But she still goes on perhaps out of sheer bloodymindedness. During her travels she tries to be strong and resolute but at the end of the day she’s only fourteen going on fifteen. Sometimes she just wants to go home. I'm still thinking on a little more for her personality. And I really liked the split personality idea I had for Liesje Sweetwater. In some way I'd like to incorporate a similar kind of element into this character somehow. Any thoughts? |

The weapon and armor are positioned as though still worn by a man, on his knees, praying. From the moment she dons the armor and sword the goddess whispers in the back of her mind. She has been chosen for a great fate but first she must earn it. She has been gifted with her own life and now must devote it to healing and freeing others. She hears the voice constantly. It is always with her both when she is weak and when she is strong. It tells her which she is and which path she has chosen and forces her to fully face each of her decisions. I'd even have the voice forcing her to look on the dead orcs. To fully realize that she had chosen to kill in defense of her own life. To accept that choice but to never forget that it was her choice. |

But I am planning on taking the Jade Phoenix Mage PrC later on. The voice in her head could be one of her previous incarnations talking to her, but she hasn't done the rite of walking yet. So she doesn't know that she's a reincarnated soul of a sworn opponent of evil. |
