| Fridwulf10-29-03, 01:29 PM | Sounds like chaotic neutral to me. |
| Arilou_skiff10-29-03, 02:35 PM | Depends, he might be everything from Neutral Good to Chaotic Evil. I'd rule out the Lawful alignments but otherwise everyone is fair game... |
| Teluvor10-29-03, 02:57 PM | I'm with Fridwulf on this one: chaotic neutral is probably the closest thing to an alignment such a character would have... Good and lawful are out of the question; being a druid that only leaves CN, NE and N... Pick one of these three, but I'd stick with the first... |
| aleshandre10-29-03, 03:14 PM | I see LN as being a possibility, though that would develop over time as his kingdom becomes established. Probably shifting from CN to N then finally to LN. |
| Trydan10-29-03, 03:18 PM | Hmm...well, as druid, the non-neutral alignments are out. Then, to consider the points in turn:
Doesn't limit the choices Violence at the slightest provokation? Sounds either CN or NE Good = Establishing his kingdom. Implies NE Will do anything to further his cause? That's end-justifies-the-means = chaotic. Thus, CN.
So, overall, I think CN would be the best choice, agreeing with most of the others here. However, I think your alternative would be NE. Anything is is not appropriate from what you've described. |

| Aerohim10-31-03, 01:59 AM | Just going to ask a few questions to help me understand where you're coming from and help you flesh this out to make a good Alignment call. :) Originally posted by Powerman5000 A druid//Verdant Lord: 1. Unsatisfied with the way society is going is trying to establish his own "kingdom" for animals (etc.) and anyone who wants to live in harmony with nature By society, I'll assume you mean a fellowship brought together by culture and economic organization. With law and order. What specifically does your character dislike about society? And is this a particular society, or just "society in general?" I would imagine Nature already is a kingdom for animals and um... nature. So what sort of conflict does your character's view of society present to Nature? In other words, why does your character want to establish another "kingdom"? Is the society violating nature in some way? How your character reacts or acts to this conflict will give more insight to alignment. From your statement above, I can only assume that your character has a problem with society (for whatever reason) and wants to ostracize himself from it and set up his own kingdom (or create another society). If this isn't the case, please elaborate. 2. Very diplomatic except with the mistreatment of nature, when he will get quickly vileont Well, if he is good natured towards others, except when others violate nature, this is probably a good vs. evil call. I'd say he'd be rather neutral here, because violence of any sort is evil, and for a character to resort to evil doings simply because it suits him would be a sign of neutrality. (Neutral is like sitting on the fence between good and evil, and whatever side supports your character's actions is whatever side your character will take.) And when you say diplomatic, do you mean manipulative? 3. Belives strongly in the "Greater Good" (mostly establishing his "kingdom") Is this a new belief or an instilled belief? What I mean is, is this belief something your character has been raised with, or is it some sort of holy venture inspired by a recent event? If the character was raised with such a belief, I think I would say the character would be good. 4. Will do almost anything in the name of establishing his "kingdom" (dethroning kings, make//break deals, consort with outsiders of anytype etc.) This kind of conflicts with your "greater good" belief above. So I would say that your character is very self-centered. In other words, this "greater good" he speaks of is to support his own beliefs, with very little regard to the values of others. Using power for personal vanity/gain is a definite sign of chaos/evil in my book. Becuase your character has certain goals/motivations in mind, it would hard to say there's any neutrality involved here. (Neutral characters are rather "whatever" about things.) Based on what you've said here, I would probably lean towards chaotic neutral. But it really depends more on how your character would react or act in the situations you have described. (So I also agree with others in this post.) Johnny <burger :king:> |
| Vexxan11-02-03, 05:57 AM | I don't quite agree with the choice of Chaotic. It seems his plans and thoughts are very ordered and his actions are defined by his own code of ethics and ideals. He is lawful enough to attempt diplomacy in an ordely fashion if need be and he is not trying to create a totally haphazard kingdom, favoring harmony. Perhaps at times his nature leans towards chaotic, but that is only a temporary situation until his goal is met. Personally I would classify this character as a True Neutral at heart. Alignment shifting will probably happen, but the pendulum swings wide on both sides, eventually resting where it ought to be; smack dab in the middle. |
| Leap11-03-03, 03:31 AM | Not really enough info there to decide...............will his 'kingdom' be one that relies heavily on "policing" or more on personal responsibility. Will it have a distinct common code of conduct / behaviour or is it just a mass of folks living close together? |
| TheBlackBart11-04-03, 10:00 AM | Meke him start neutral. And then see how he act most often. He'll probably fall on one of the extreme eventually, he's just too much of a fanatic to stay in the middle. |
