Do you pick races and classes for min maxing? or do you choose because that character fits your personality? Or maybe because that's what the party needs. I typicaly play clerics mainly because they fit my personality and no one else likes to play them. I also like fighters occasionaly and sometimes Paladins although I don't last long as a Paladin. I never try to make my character the most powerful I do how ever try to make my character interesting to the plot line. I'm not into sneaky stealthy characters like rangers and rogues I prefer the straight forward approach. Nor do like the frailty of Wizards and I find it frustraiting to find spells. I have no idea on how to play a barbarian Monk or Bard. . That's about all I have to say for now |

I kinda like being the guy on the front like getting into the thick of it all the time, cos its where the action is. I always put the story before power gaming, though that doesnt mean i dont tweek my character a bit so they are the best they can be :D Later |

| Ashianyl03-23-06, 01:17 AM | I love Rogues because they are sneaky and usually pull the party out of trouble because the party over-extended themselves. I also love getting into trouble all alone and finding creative ways of getting out of those troubles. I love Psions for their powers, which is fun to do since I can use powers in public (assuming I have a high enough concentration check) compared to wizards and clerics. Allows me to pull off fun pranks on people. I love Sorcerers cos they are the prettiest and flashiest... even if acting so gets her called a bimbo. :D |
| Jedah03-23-06, 02:56 AM | I'm usually the designated rogue of the group. Danger, speed, sneak attacks, and slick talking. The problem with most rogues I roll is that they end up with no stats to spare for strength so I end up low on the imaginary damage meter in the later sessions of a campaign. At the moment I'm also having a a blast with a scout I rolled up. His stats have really given me the liberty to feel good about everything he does. I've played the charismatic bluffer and humorist to a great extent so I've given this character a more stoic feel. The balance between his dexterity and strength is great, so I see myself in a much more frontline role to help our meatier melee dispatch baddies. As for races I usually see myself going human or elf. I enjoy elves because of their longevity. I hate seeing a character of mine succumb to death, whether by sword or old age. Human is my primary race of choice as they help me ground goals to a shorter lifespan. I also tend to feel a lot more for my human characters, for they have to witness friends and others of different races age slower. Kinda' sucks to know you're the first to go in most cases. |
| Dex03-23-06, 07:48 AM | I enjoy playing rogues because: a) Evasion. What fireball/breath weapon/blade barrier? :) b) I get stuck with it coz nobody else wants to have thier head blown off disarming a fireball trap ;) c) Sneak Attack is utterly hilarious :D d) You can express almost any type of personality/outlook/alignment  e) I prefer to role-play NPC encounters, so I have the crunch to back up my fluff. f) "Look! Behind you!" *Rolls Bluff check* :P g) Second highest priority on the cleric's "to heal" list :weep: |
| KVW03-23-06, 02:12 PM | Someone mentioned Straight forward combatants. With the right buffs and right feats a cleric can be a good one. Thanks to the book of Exalted deeds A cleric with his mace can be almost as deadly as a fighter a good aligned cleric that is. When we stop our eberon campaign. I was thinking of making a good aligned exalted fighter. With the plan of retireing to Sainthood. As for races I prefer Humans, Dwarves being my second choice. I don't like Elves or Halflings. In Eberon I thought about trying a Warforged but I think they would be too hard to role play. I did toy with trying a monk with the vow of poverty feat it's the only class that truely works for. |
