| BDM_Mangler03-28-06, 10:51 PM | I'm trying to make a rouge/ranger character and I'm not exactly sure which race would compliment a ranger rogue. hopefully i can get enough people to respond to this thread so that I can make a well informed choice. I've researched every basic race as fully as i possibly can but i haven't been able to research specialized races (Drow, Duerger, etc.) any suggestions would help. |

If you want which race fits Ranger/Rogue best for flavor...well...you're pretty much working with a stealther-than-usual ranged combatant, in the vein of a sniper. That said, it could work for a lot of things, but here's what I envision as far as core races. 1) Human/Half Elf/Elf. Pretty much like any other Ranger, only difference being you're a bit sneakier in your methods. 2) Halfling Urban Ranger/Rogue. Either an assassin for a Thieve's Guild, or an agent of the local authority who tracks and possibly eliminates troublemakers. A secret agent of sorts. "Bondoggle. Jasper Bondoggle." 3) Dwarf Ranger/Rogue. Tunnel rat. You lurk in seldom-visited mine shafts and keep an eye out for kobolds, Drow, and other less-than-wanted visitors. Then you kill them. 4) Gnome...um...I'm not feeling it. Nah. Not a gnome. Doesn't seem to fit. 5) Half Orc. It could be done, I guess, but Rogue implies subtlety, and half-orcs are anything but. You could do it, but he'd be an odd one out. |
